Common logical fallacies being used by Marcos Apologists...

Big Lie Techique Fallacy

"Golden age panahon ni Marcos."

Wrong. Just because you keep seeing this lie being repeated on social media does not make it true. All economic parameters show bagsak pilipinas economically noong martial law.

False dichotomy

"Mga dilawan naman kayo." Or "Komunista kasi kayo."

Wrong. Hindi lahat ng against Marcos eh dilaw o pula. At kahit naman kami dilawan o pulahan, still doesn't erase the fact na maraming pinatay, nawala at ninakaw sa kaban ng bayan noong Martial Law!

Bandwagon fallacy

"Marami nagsasabi na maganda buhay noong martial law."

Wrong. Di porket mas "marami" kayo eh tama kayo. Ang katotohanan ay hindi nakukuha sa kampihan.

Argument from Motives

"Sinisiraan niyo na naman si Marcos kasi malapit na election."

Wrong. Malapit man o malayo ang eleksiyon, nagnakaw, pumatay at umabuso si Marcos. Hindi namin kasalanan na kasira-sira si Marcos any time of the year.

Card-stacking fallacy

"Lung Center, Heart Center, LRT, CCP, RITM, NLEX, SLEX..."

O? Tapos? Kahit sing haba pa ng san juanico bridge yang listahan niyo, hindi pa din magbabago ang fact na lubog sa utang ang pilipinas, gutom at walang trabaho ang mga pilipino noong Martial Law.

Exception fallacy

"Maganda naman buhay ng mga lolo at lola ko noong Martial Law."

Hindi porket yan ang experience nila eh yan na ang naranasan ng lahat. Swerte kayo kung ganun. Pero hindi ibig sabihin mali kami sa naranasan naming hirap.

Red herring

"Mendiola Massacre... Hacienda Luisita Massacre"

O tapos? We condemn those massacres, too. Pero marami pa din pinatay si "William Saunders" at nakurakot si "Jane Ryan".

Hero-busting fallacy

"Hindi hero si Ninoy, haciendera si Cory."

Okay. Pero hindi pa din hero ni Macoy. And convicted of graft and corrupt practices pa din si Meldy.

Third-person effect

"Biased naman mga media." And "History books are written by the victors."

If media showed any bias, then it was in favor of the government, as it was controlled by Marcos back then. History books are peer-reviewed by historians. Wala kayong lusot dito.

Straw man fallacy

"Wala naman nagbago after EDSA86."

This is wrong. But also, this is not our argument. Whatever happened after 86 do not diminish the atrocities committed by Marcos and his cronies.

Dog-whistle politics

"ML was declared to prevent communism reaching Ph during the cold war."

Really? But Mr. Marcos was the biggest recruiter of the CPP that time. Because of his attrocities, doctors, lawyers, students and even nuns joined the movement. Kasalanan ni Marcos yan.
