To his credit @himantabiswa has always been open about freeing land from the clutches of illegal foreign settlers as evident from this tweet where he had assured temple of freeing their land from encroachers and convert it into community farming land!

For 3 days none said a word on a drive, that was running peacefully; but then true to this decision to set up a committee for planning and sustaining agitations, @RahulGandhi’s backroom boys and “kutil kroor buddhi”of @digvijaya_28 cud smell an opportunity to stoke fire in Assam! 
Next, State Congress President @BhupenKBorah entered the seen and started stoking fire and openly started supporting the encroachers falsely accusing @himantabiswa of vacating people living on the land since the 1970s.
Emboldened by the support of Assam Cong at the instance of @RahulGandhi , the illegal settlers launched an attack on police when they came to evict the illegal settlers - can see clearly in this video

The violence unleashed by illegal Bangladeshi goons left a policeman dead and 9 injured; this prompted counter action by the @assampolice in which few settlers also died and got injured. This is the real trajectory of the entire saga that @RahulGandhi will milk now for days!
But we trust @himantabiswa to not budge and continue this drive with more zeal and purpose - should be extended across the state so that this cycle of encroachment- regularise and force demographic change by illegal Bangladeshis must STOP- once and for all!
