Surya Siddhanta no doubt shows that Hindu astronomy/trigonometry was one of the earliest to develop but that does not mean that it got things correct….
👇🏻
For eg:
The text treats earth as a stationary globe around which sun, moon and five planets orbit.
The next claim in Surya Siddhanta is that planets have apparent sizes, the same as globes with diameter 37.5 (Saturn), 45 (Mercury) 52.5 (Jupiter) and 60 yojanas (Venus)
👇🏻
We know this to be incorrect as well.
The author (s) obviously derive it in an arithmetic sequence.
Wrong!!
This point was well known to the maker of Jhora software and that’s one of the reasons its put only for research purposes...
When it’s getting so many things wrong..... no point in using it unless one wants to see what mistakes were made by them...
The problem is not with whether we assume x or y calculation proves antiquity or not, it simply means that nobody will use it for astronomy today..
Using for esoteric purposes depends on the user.

It is rare to come across a theory like 3067BCE.
While I know how late Dr Achar arrived at this date (intersection of Mars retrograde and Saturn Aldebaran positions), this year is the only year in which the 212+ references have any hope of fitting.
👇🏻 academia.edu/42657451/3067B…
But the question still remains, how did Dr Raghavan, a great professor of Mathematics from Chennai university ever come to 3067BCE?
I think I know how.
I was told that he is connected to Satagopa (in one of my workshops, one of Nammalwar’s descendants is present and agrees)
My surmise is that, 3067BCE, is present in some ancestor record of Nammalwar.
That is the reason, I feel that Dr Raghavan came to this date.
I have tested dozens of dates to see if the references fit the way they should.
Not one other date comes even within 20-30% of 3067BCE.
Now that the war/pilgrimage timelines are PROVEN as failed in 5561BCE, let’s see Bhisma Moksha
Following are:
Failed by 5561BCE/passed in 3067BCE
1Magha masa for Bhisma moksha x 2 verses.
258 day max for moksha.
3Explanation for 56 day for Krishna’s observation. (Achar)
The following are:
Failed by 5561BCE/passed in 3067BCE
1Magha masa for Bhisma moksha x 2 verses.
258 day max for moksha.
3Explanation for 56 day for Krishna’s observation. (Original timeline of Dr Achar)
4Moksha on 4th day post WS
5Moksha not on WS.
When someone does NOT get the start of the timeline correct (because of mistaken Amavasya start to war), how can that person/theory get Bhisma Moksha correct?

1. Dear @NileshOak please don’t fool yourself that the first day of the war is an Amavasya.
It is NOT, because a Full Moon CANNOT rise at night in the EAST.
Chapter 9 (sample table) clarifies that ur Moonphases are analogies NOT observations!
2. Shri @nileshoak Regarding the 14th war night:
A full Moon can NEVER rise in the Eastern sky so late at night. It’s a LATE waning phase Moon which rises at night in the East!
This means your ENTIRE WAR timeline is WRONG. It’s back to front!

3. Those who are shocked that something like this can happen, that team 5561BCE is not showing Moonphases but showing ANALOGIES as observations should see the 2 timelines : war and pilgrimage failed in the following short video:turn on audio
A characteristic of Vipareeta Raja Yoga is that the more the person is attacked, the more the person will grow in stature, depending on the status of VRY Grahas. Two such grahas in mutual aspect can elevate the person significantly.
If the grahas participating in the VRY (Vipareeta Raja Yoga) are also Neechabhanga especially by a natural benefic, then the field of activity is that of the benefic!
If additional Jupiter is associated with a strong Lord of the house, it can elevate the person no end.
If in addition, benefic Graha dashas operate, even an attack on the person has a capability to elevate the status of a person.
You can see this in many charts if you check the power of the grahas involved in those Yogas.
Shri @nileshoak, you are claiming that a Full Moon rises late at night during the 14th war night.
This is a blunder because only a late waning phase Moon rises at night.
Would you like to explain why you took Moonphases based on Upamanas? (Analogies NOT observations)
That too, it’s that Kartika Purnima which occurs before the war in actual fact in the text of the Mahabharata. Yet you are claiming it occurred in the war timeline!
How did this Full Moon transplant this occur?
Shri Oak should note that a dust storm cannot obscure an earlier Moonrise, because if that had happened, then the Moon 8-10 hrs later would have NOT been in the Eastern sky but would be in the Western sky! The text specifies Eastern sky late at night!

Short evolving thread on assumptions made by researchers:
It’s a Saturday so start with Saturn first:
👇🏻
For 3067BCE, one need not say “I won’t take planetary positions into account because the year I chose does not permit it”
Any astronomer/Jyotishi will tell you that since Saturn is the slowest moving of all planets, we must take it’s position into account.
What happens if someone says that “No the planetary positions don’t matter?”
Ans: The theory collapses! astronomyofindia.wordpress.com/2021/05/22/sat…
How many verses does an astronomer need to ignore to say that “We won’t take planetary positions into account and we will just ignore Mahabharata evidence of Yuddha starting after Kaliyuga started?”
Ans: Umpteen verses ARE ignored.
If ignored, this is “belief” and NOT “science”
