1. Since the start of 2019, the #Bears offense has failed to crack 250 total yards for a game nine times.

Matt Nagy might be one of the best snake oil salesmen in recent memory.
1a. Justin Fields was asked to run a traditional West Coast-style offense on Sunday from the pocket against one of the best defensive fronts in the NFL.

If people needed evidence that Nagy is married to his system and will never change?

There you go. #Bears
1b. The #Bears have never fired a head coach midseason before.

We've said it would take something major for that to change.

After Detroit next week they get the Raiders, Packers, Buccaneers, 49ers, and Steelers.

Mostly teams that can score, play good defense, or both. 😬
2. If there is one positive to take away about Justin Fields in that game?

He protected the ball. No bad interceptions and no fumbles.

Didn't put the defense in even worse positions.

A small silver lining but one worth noting. #Bears
3. There is no point in evaluating the offensive line for this game.

They were massacred.

Nobody did their job. Especially the tackles.

Jason Peters and Germain Ifedi got exposed in every way imaginable. #Bears
4. Jimmy Graham has one catch through three games.

Cole Kmet has 7.

For all that talk about needing to get the tight ends more involved, Nagy keeps finding ways to make them disappear.

#Bears
5. The #Bears offense has score 14, 13, and 6 points through three games.

They have managed 20 or more in a game just three times in nine games dating back to October 4th of last year with Nagy as a play caller.

How many more ways must I point this out?
6. The #Bears defense watched their offense net 47 total yards and somehow only gave up 26 points.

People will never know how well they actually played in that game.

It was within 7 points until the end of the 3rd quarter.

What a crime.
6. Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn have now combined for six sacks through the first three games.

That is the most encouraging development of the season thus far.

We're finally seeing what the #Bears had in mind last year and it's pretty awesome.
7. Mario Edwards Jr. had a sack. Angelo Blackson had half a sack.

We keep saying this almost every week but Ryan Pace is truly impressive at finding good defensive linemen.

#Bears are loaded up front.
8. Just in case people needed a reminder?

Eddie Jackson has now gone 20-consecutive games without an interception.

#Bears
9. One coach who is doing his job to this point is Sean Desai.

He had his guys ready to play. They were fast, disciplined, and energetic most of the game.

The man showed in this game he is capable of playing the chess match against a good play caller.

#Bears
10. Cairo Santos hasn't missed a field goal since September 27th of last year.

The guy is automatic and worth every penny the #Bears gave him on that new contract.

If anything, they may have gotten a bargain.

1. Mitch Trubisky deserves lots of credit for helping the #Bears rebound over the past few weeks. They're clearly a better team with him under center.

One must stress caution though.

Context is king and the reality is a soft schedule of subpar defenses (30th, 31st, 22nd) helps.
2. The best way to describe this situation is Mitch Trubisky has returned close to his 2018 form.

He's playing efficient, confident football thanks in large part to the offense not going through him.

Back then it was Jordan Howard. This time it's David Montgomery. #Bears
3. David Montgomery has accounted for 571 total yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns in the past four games.

He's been borderline unstoppable, looking quicker and faster than ever along with his never-die-easy running style.

The #Bears have hitched their wagon to him.

1. Ryan Pace’s tenure as #Bears GM pretty much died on a Mitch Trubisky strip-sack. It doesn’t get much more poetic than that.
2. Calling back-to-back pass plays deep in your own territory with a turnover-prone QB while your RB is having a great game.

Say this for Matt Nagy. He went down staying 100% on brand. #Bears
3. Allen Robinson needs 96 yards in four games to crack 1,000 for the second-straight year. He’s the best offensive player this regime ever acquired.

It’s horribly fitting he’ll likely leave at the same time as them. #Bears

1. The #Bears now rank 31st in the NFL in points scored and total yards.

Only one offense in team history ranked worse. That was in 2004. The Craig Krenzel/Jonathan Quinn/Chad Hutchinson era.

The fact Matt Nagy has managed this with Mitch Trubisky and Nick Foles says it all.
2. In six drafts to this point, Ryan Pace has selected three offensive linemen before the 5th round.

One was off the team after two seasons.

For a guy who talked so much about QBs being vital to success, he's shown incredible negligence in protecting his.

#Bears
3. In their 10 games this season, the #Bears offense has scored a total of 18 touchdowns.

Ready for this? Ten of those touchdowns came in the 4th quarter. The remaining 8 came in the other three quarters combined.

Translation? When defenses don't play soft, they have no shot.

1. The #Bears offense is bad. We know this. Still, so is the Vikings defense.

Their secondary is gutted at corner and they have no pass rush.

If the O-line, who is getting some help back tonight, can protect Nick Foles he'll be hitting open guys.
2. Beating the Vikings this year has resulted when opponents force them into turnovers.

They have 12 turnovers in their five losses.

No turnovers in their three wins.

The #Bears defense has been painfully close to several takeaways the past few weeks. They're due.
3. Part of why Minnesota has avoided turnovers lately is Dalvin Cook. His ability to dominate on the ground has allowed Kirk Cousins to take fewer chances in the passing game.

The Vikings are winless when he's held under 100 yards on the ground.

The #Bears D needs a big night.

1. The sign of a good head coach is seen in trends. From year to year, is the team improving?

Matt Nagy has gone from 12-4 to 8-8 and now 5-4 with his team losing 3-straight and clearly spiraling.

His offense has also gone from 21st to 29th, to 29th.

No improvement. #Bears
2. Want to know the story of Ryan Pace as #Bears GM?

Spent $45 million on Mike Glennon
Spent 4 draft picks including #2 overall on Mitch Trubisky
Spent a 4th round pick and $21 million on Nick Foles

Nothing more needs to be said. He took three swings at QB and struck out.
3. People keep using the O-line as an excuse for Matt Nagy.

Last week the Bengals were missing 4 starters up front and hung 31 points on the Titans.

This week Dallas put 19 points on the 6th ranked Steelers D without both OTs and fielding a 4th-string QB.
