I hear you don't want to put a hard lockdown in place because you don't want to punish the vaccinated. Can I let you in on a not-so-secret secret? The vaccinated are being punished either way. It's not really safe to be out an about. There is no room 1/

for car accidents, sports injuries, or illness in our hospitals. We are being told to stay home in the midst of a predictable 4th wave. Seriously, the only people not being punished under your leadership are the unvaccinated who you continue to whip into a freedom frenzy. 2/

So can we stop pretending that you have any consideration for the lives and livelihoods of the vaccinated. WE ALREADY DID the right thing. We keep doing the right things. This wave is all about the last 20% of the province who are all willfully unvaccinated 3/

all looking to you for leadership and you in your infinite wisdom keep encouraging them with your editable Vaccine Passports, you ambiguous restrictions, your consistent inconsistancy, your absolute refusal to allow for enforcement of restrictions, your ongoing silence and 4/

inaction on protests outside of hospitals. Those are your fans. Literally this whole mess of a 4th wave is being driven by your biggest fans, yet you continue to encourage it. History will not be kind to you Kenney. Students everywhere will come to know your name, and it 5/

will not be a good look for you. It is not too late to step away from ideology and get back to science. It is not too late to step away from partisan politics and focus on the human costs. It's not too late today, but it will be soon. Without very clear, strong restrictions to 6/

reduce community spread, increase contact tracing, increase isolation and testing, without a genuine push to reach the willfully unvaccinated and those facing barriers to access, we will continue to surf wave after wave of covid. 7/

You can pretend you are trying to protect the economy, but the economy needs people to function; workers, shoppers, etc. If all the vaccinated are staying home to stay safe and healthy, they aren't spending. When we feel safe leaving our homes, we go out to eat, shop, spend. 8/

IF this was about the economy, then the last thing we need is to be making international news about how terribly you are handling this wave. No one wants to invest in a province where a large section of society is dealing with the lifelong consequenses of long-covid. No one 9/

wants to invest in a province that has to call in the military for support while also hosting sold out hockey games. It tells folks you do one thing and say another. How does that make for secure investment? 10/

You can also stop pretending this is about protecting mental health. If you actually wanted to protect that, you wouldn't close down safe consumption sites, you wouldn't take funding away from AISH, housing programs, and more. You would add psych beds, addiction spaces. 9/

You would deal with the opiod crisis instead of just talking about it. So Mr Kenney, now that you are back from vacation, it is time for you to get to work. Enact clear restrictions that our doctors and nurses are begging for, before there is no economy to protect. fin/
