The actual truth is all transmission is in air and nothing (barely any) is in droplet, but PH and gov are not incentivized to ever admit this.
They will say mix forever and ever.
They will ultimately be found wrong because the math and experiments support air, but thus it goes.
For some fun, check Pubmed and you will see the same happening for Ebola
Articles saying Ebola (filovirus) is typically thought to be touch but _maybe_ it's also in the air
There's no maybe
Maybe is science for "I want to say it's in air,but I also want to get this published"

While we are talking the fun of law, here is another squeeze play that's coming:
Owners of businesses are going to get held up on criminal charges for not following public health advice, which advice will ultimately be found to be wrong anyway.
Since you are reading all about SARS, check this out. No health care who wore N95s during SARS caught it.
Bottom row, third entry. First col is did not develop SARS, second is they did.

Background
A(H1N1)pdm09 influenza viruses replicate efficiently in respiratory epithelia and are transmitted via respiratory droplets and aerosols expelled by infected hosts. The relative onward transmission potential of influenza viruses replicating in the upper and lower
There is something gloriously vindicative that our best weapon against SARS-CoV-2 might be molnupiravir, which causes the virus replication to suck in the wrong molecule and replicate improperly, ruining its mRNA.
