Relying on ANES and CCES datasets from 2012-2020 we consistently find that while Latinx are more likely to exhibit sexism, it does not significantly affect support for Trump. Further, Latinx sexist are no more/less likely to support Trump compared to non-Latinx sexists.

Theory - some Latinx blame immigrants for increasing hostility towards Latinx in US. They are redefining Latinidad to exclude immigrants. As such, Trump and restrictive policies are not a status threat - and support for Trump signals this redefinition of Latinidad to outgroups.
Lucid Sample of 1164 US Latinx and MTurK pilot of 197 US Latinx. Resentment scale includes 4 questions that measure belief in existing negative stereotypes about Latinx immigrants and that "Undocumented make Latinx look bad". Various tests demonstrate validity of this measure
