Set a trap for your reader's attention

This is what I learned from 6 golden minutes of the conversation between @jmikolay and @Nicolascole77

My other key takeaways in the THREAD👇
Set a trap for your reader's attention:

The best traps say almost everything that the reader needs, but leave a gap for the reader to fill in.

Setting a trap isn't even the best term - what you're doing is making your content sticky.
The best way to make your content sticky?

→ Create a curiosity gap
→ Deliver on your promise
How to approach your headline or head tweet:

→ Tell the beginning and end of the story.
→ Make your reader click to fill in the middle.
→ Fill the middle with sweet, sweet, creamy goodness.

They'll develop into fans of your content.
@Nicolascole77 focuses most of his time on headlines to clarify what he is saying.
What makes a great headline is something that is true.
Clickbait is only clickbait if you don't fulfill your promise.
If you write really catchy headlines and then fill your article with valuable content, you've acquired a superpower.

Having a personal brand means owning the narrative of what others say about you when you're not in the room

My conversation with @dr_woj unpacks 3 criteria for how to own your personal brand:

• Positive
• Unique
• Relevant

8 Simple Ideas to Unlock The Course Inside You

(VISUAL🧵)
Everyone has an online course in them.

Decode what you're doing.

Learn how to teach it to others. Image
You don't have to be an expert.

You can "learn in public".

If you can help your friend do something, you've got credibility to them.

You don't have to be an expert in their eyes.

You helped them.

That's enough.

Start teaching way earlier than you think you're ready. Image

Two key components in the economics of Superstar Teaching:

1) the art of teaching online
2) the business of distribution

Let's explore 👇
1/ The Art of Teaching Online

Teaching on the Internet is a skill and like any skill, you can learn how to get better at it.

Internalize this: you can learn how to be a better teacher.
2/ The Business of Distribution

The 2nd part of the economics of Superstar Teaching is to leverage partnerships.

Partnerships for distribution shortcut the painstaking process of audience building.

Just short of 1 year in and 10,000 downloads

Absolutely no chance I would've believed this a year ago

And now, it's one of the highest leverage things I do every week
In fact, I'd go so far as to recommend it to everyone

Who needs another podcast you might think?

That's actually besides the point...
I learn so much from every conversation

I've met some incredible thinkers and builders

And I'm sitting on a goldmine of wisdom from these fascinating people

I chatted to @RobinMWaite recently about:

// How to Position & Price Your Course //

Here is everything I learned 👇
1/ Start with setting a goal 🎯

how much money do you want in 12 months from your course?

if you have multiple revenue streams (courses, consulting, info products), consider each separately

different buyers have different price sensitivities
2/ Figure out your capacity 🥛

let's say your goal is $120,000

break down your total into monthly goals

then create scenarios for how to reach it:

$10,000 x 1 buyer

$1,000 x 10 buyers

$100 x 100 buyers

$10 x 1,000 buyers

Learning is hard, but teaching is harder.

I'm want to help you combat that. I’m convinced if you want to transform people through education, you have to make an identity change and connect with your Teacher Identity within ⬇️
This is what 'Course of Action' is about. My new course on how to effectively teach through the internet.

The aim: To help people identify how they can uniquely help others through coaching, speaking, writing, and making videos. Here's the info you need: bit.ly/3u1yBS6
In order to help others, you have to take action first. But before you take action, you have to know where you’re headed. So ask yourself this important question:
