13 Unpopular Opinions about Human Beings that are actually true!

A thread
1. People who hurt you are broken inside.

The ease with which you accept that, the happier you would be in life.
2. The happier you get, the less you feel the need to prove it.
3. If you want to see who does the best work, look at who speaks the least.
4. There is no one who would respect your time if you keep being available to others during your free time.
5. The easiest way to show people you love them is to love yourself.
6. The mark of a strong human being is they are willing to go anywhere without their phone and wrist watch.
7. Sometimes the best way to be there for people is to not be there.
8. When you need someone and they are there for you; yet you never make an effort to check on them - then that is not friendship. That is selfishness under the mask of friendship.
9. You truly don't need to prove anything to anyone else.
10. For the longest time, your honesty will bring you troubles, make you the uncool kid in front of others, and perhaps make you consider otherwise.

Only when you still stay true to it, it rewards you magnanimously.

Sometimes even without asking for it!
11. You can never make fun of others until you are feeling hollow inside.
12. People want others to keep their word, yet they keep breaking their own promises to themselves all of the time.
13. The most difficult, and the most important one: Having a relationship with yourself is the hardest part.
Others could be blamed.
Poked fun at.
Even abandoned.

You can do none of these to yourself.
Only when you are ready to take responsibility of your life (not 1/10th as easy as poking finger at others), only then you realise how useless all unpopular opinions become :)

How to say no

(without sounding rude)

A thread
Hi Nishtha! How are you?

I recently got this text from an ex colleague of a client I was working with.

The client was epic.
However, this partner threw me out of my writing assignment just on call.
Which I made.
After several follow-ups.
I’m usually someone who responds 😊 or 👍 after conversations, however, I didn’t respond to this one.
Why?

Because he would again give me good assignment.
And then say no unprofessionally without me being aware of.

Why do you have to screw up with people again and again?

Everyone thinks kindness is easy, but I think kindness is the hardest thing in the world

Here's why

A real-life story thread
When I was 19, I fell in love.
With only one problem:

The guy VANISHED on the next day of making out.
I called, and got lolled.
I tried connecting, all in vain.
I waited for a closure, because I hadn’t still understood that no closure IS a closure.

21 controversial truths about life
A thread

(Might not be what you expected to hear, but maybe what you needed to hear.)
1. Anger doesn’t change ANYTHING
2. Listening helps, when you want to have a conversation.
Listening is the worst thing to do, if it is the gossip that is being shared.

An unexpected story of how I moved careers into a TOTALLY unrelated field

(And maybe you can too!)

A thread
In Class 6, I wrote my first poem on “The Candle”

It went: “I begin my life to give it an end, ‘coz I’m a candle who has only light to send.”

That sonnet got selected for some best poem of the school.
IDK how :)
Few years later, I was the national topper in Boards in English subjects. In University, scored 90%.

However, by then (2012) the junoon of clearing CA was so much on the top of my head, that I almost didn’t consider this as a sign.

These 11 tiny hacks can save you years of painful effort of trying to feel Good

A thread
Few days back when I wrote a Twitter thread on spirituality, some of you wrote in asking if there are some practices I follow to feel good on a daily basis

Here are the 11 things I do, that help me immensely:
1. No WiFi

Yes, you read that right.
I do not want internet to linger with me throughout the day. So I have a beautiful 2 GB a day plan on phone for myself and Maa Papa, works wonderfully well.

Which brings me to the second thing:

If you think you are a failure, here's a weird 3-minute take on the other side of it...

A thread on failure and our weird relationship with it
If you think you are a failure, you are probably right.

That itself, makes you successful in the first place.
If you think you are a failure, what makes you think so?

The society's definition of failure?
What your parents thought you could do?
Or something you couldn't achieve in your day?
