The rest of the developed world barely gets any attention from @Facebook let alone the developing world, where it is huge and plays a significantly greater role in political communications than it does in the west.
In NZ in 2019, a lone Australian gunman killed 51 people on a rampage through two mosques in Christchurch, where I went to school. His shooting spree was streamed live on Facebook on thousands of pages and groups. It was far and away the largest terror event ever in NZ. Image

Attached is a thread showing the transition of Major Hurricane Sam into the a massive 1400km wide extratropical Cyclone (heading towards Iceland.

Here we see latest forecasts of the impact on Europe - beginning with a PWAT (water/energy) 5 day forecast.
The main feature we see in this animation is a cold dry air blast coming in from the east and colliding with a high pressure system located initially roughly speaking over the Bay of Biscay. The water concentration over the Med/Italy Alps suggests significant precipitation there.
This forecast shows the very complicated evolution of water transport over this five day period - JetStream 11-18km high winds carrying elevated moisture into Europe from the North Atlantic.

Super extratropical cyclone Sam has just fully completed its transition, and it is an amazing sight.

The first Ethiopia related media moment at the UNHQ today is beginning now according to the schedule. Stakeout's are not guaranteed, but @AmbMKimani is a very professional UN PR, so I expect he will turn up.
Here we see @AmbMKimani & media. Asked if there was a UNSC statement, Kenya's PR speaking as Kenya said he had not seen one, but that there would be an A3+1 joint position announced during the meeting this afternoon at 3pm.

He confirmed focus of meeting will be Ethiopia. Image
A second speaker came out to speak, but I missed who it was (internet issues). He said that the UNSC was "worried".

@jeffpropulsion The leaked audio also raises questions about UN funder involvement - i.e. Members (US, EU UK?) in the efforts to secure direct control - absent both @UNEthiopia and Govt. of Ethiopia visibility - over the aid effort in Tigray.
@jeffpropulsion @UNEthiopia Taken together these latest revelations bring into question the management of the entire UN Humanitarian operations, and now urgently require responses from the UNSG @antonioguterres and @UNReliefChief Martin Griffiths.
