I am deleting my Facebook account.

Facebook has proven to be an unethical company that makes the world worse.

Mark Zuckerberg's utopian proclamation "to bring the world closer together” is utter nonsense. Facebook has only driven people further apart.

I am not without my contradictions. I will keep my Instagram account (a Facebook company), and a business page but I'm only doing this to help people out of cults (who aren't on other channels). I will not have a personal account nor will I interface on the platform.

The recent Facebook whistleblower revelations should come as NO surprise to anyone paying attention. Time and time again, Facebook has acted AGAINST the public interest. Facebook takes no issue sowing division or giving teenagers suicidal ideations if it makes Facebook money.

Mark Zuckerberg COULD tailor algorithms for better aims, but he doesn't. He wants to MAXIMIZE time on his channels, even if that means prioritizing conflict and conspiracies. He wants people to be ADDICTED to his platforms and has intentionally designed his products to do this.

What should be done? We should repeal or rewrite Section 230. FB operates with impunity with the content on their platform. They throw up their arms and say "we're not publishers!" while their platform disseminates destructive content. This should change. cnbc.com/2021/03/04/how…

Not only should the S.E.C. & the F.T.C. investigate Facebook, but I believe Zuckerberg & other Facebook execs in the know should be prosecuted for harm they've inflicted. Our system has NO problem prosecuting poor people who sell drugs, while real agents of destruction walk free.
