Now O'Toole is being revealed (by a right wing organization) to have been feeding at the trough as well. He is on his way out the door. But this raises some questions. 2/8
Is abusing and taking advantage of monetary gain opportunities just endemic among those who run for leader of the CPC? Or are there deals being struck behind the scenes? 3/8
One must wonder. Are CPC leaders offered such and such monetary remunerations for doing and saying what they are told, in order to gain back power for the CPC? And then, is the punishment, the Kompromat wielded, if they fail to win the election, the reveal of their avarice? 4/8
One greedy guy gaming the system can be seen as an anomaly. One after another becomes a pattern. The CPC desperately wants to form government. And they want it while they still have enough provinces under conservative rule so as to open the constitution. 5/8
One has to wonder what back-room deals are being made. One has to wonder what is driving them. Looking at the platforms, over the years, the public good is not the CPC goal. So there must be substantial personal gains to be had. 6/8
These gains may be monetary. Or the ideological satisfaction of imposing austerity, draconian incarceration, punishing the poor/BIPOC/LGBTQ2+/women/disabled, and "Taking Canada Back" for white men. Or both. Quite possibly both. 7/8
But something is going on. Does the CPC attract leadership candidates who are just crooked and opportunistic? Or is there an incentive program which is ripped away as punishment for electoral failure? Something to ponder. 8/8
