8 things rich people do and don't do every day
What you do today counts.

Your daily habits are a major determinant of your wealth.
The metaphor best known is the avalanche.

These habits are like snowflakes — they build up, and then you have an avalanche of success.
Everyone has some rich habits and some broke habits.

The key is to get more than 50% to be rich habits.

Here are 9 of those habits:
1. Rich people always keep their goals in focus.

Wealthy people set their goals every morning and focus on them.

Everything they are doing has their final destination in mind.

Wealthy people set annual and monthly goals and most will put those goals in writing.
A goal is only a goal if it has two things: It's realistic, and there's a physical action you can take to chase it.

Rich people prioritise and know what needs to be done today.
2. Have a daily to-do list.

Wealthy people focus on completing that to-do list today.

Don't overcrowd the list, have 3 important tasks that you have to get done everyday.

Celebrate each task as you complete.
3. They don't watch TV.

Rich people watch TV one hour or less per day.

The common variable among the wealthy is how they make productive use of their time.

So rich people are focused on adding activities that create value in their lives.
They wealthy are not avoiding watching TV because they have some amazing human discipline or willpower.

They just don't think about watching much TV.

Because they are engaged in some other quality activity like exercise or reading.
4. Rich people read lots

Rich people read non-fiction books and in particular self improvement ones

The rich are voracious readers on how to improve themselves.

When reading they are thinking about how to action the information.
5. Rich people excel in their jobs.

Whether it's a 9-5 or their own business rich people are high performers.

They develop and master the skills required to earn a lot.

They do more than their job requires and they mostly love their work.
6. Millionaires aren't hoping to win the jackpot.

Very few rich people do the lottery and hope to get wealthy due to some lucky break.

They do not rely on chance.

Preparation for everything is key so that they are in a position to take advantage of a lucky break.
7. The wealthy manage risks

Rich people don't just play it safe with their money.

Nor take reckless risk on board.

They put their own money on the table and take measured financial risks.

People like this aren't afraid to take risks but they protect the downside always
8. Getting richer involves staying healthy

They watch their waistline and exercise in some form most days.

Wealthy people value their health.

This is because they know the value of compounding.

And that in the final years of their work is where the big money is earned.

How you behave is more important than what you know.

Top 🔟 investing lessons I wish I could teach my younger self

No. 10 is my favourite
1. Patience

The ability to do nothing and just wait is one of the most undervalued investing skills.

With Warren Buffet investing is his skill but time is his secret.

The best performing portfolios over the long term are those where there is very little activity.
2. Research

Research thoroughly anything you are going to put your money into.

The depth of this research is tested in market downturns when the stock drops 50%.

Never invest blindly based on an expert's recommendation.

Always read up yourself.
