The then chief engineer of the Maharashtra Engg Training Academy & former Irrigation Dept engineer Vijay Pandhare wrote to CM Prithviraj Chavan, Governor K Sankaranarayanan recommending CBI investigation into inflated cost estimates and other irregularities in dam contracts 3/n

Pandhare had to be given police protection after then Deputy CM Ajit Pawar resigned as details emerged of irregularities in multiple contracts. Other activists like Anjali Damania and Pravin Wategaonkar also exposed wrongdoings of the govt in the scam.

THe govt ordered a sham of an investigation which led to a “clean chit” given to Pawar and he was back as Minister within 2 months. In 2014 the CAG did a performance audit on ‘Management of Irrigation Projects’ between 2007-2013. It confirmed allegations made by activists 5/n

Maharashtra's irrigation scam brought into focus the role of powerful, politically-connected contractors. Anti-dam activists like Parinita Dandekar said that Maharashtra is a politically connected contractor-run democracy. 6/n

When Devendra Fadnavis became CM - the ACB began investigations under Sanjay Barve.
According to ACB, the NCP executed several irrigation projects in exchange for monetary benefits, thus leading to a case of corruption and misuse of office.

In JUne 2017 the ACB registered its first Criminal Case Those named in the FIR are Fateh Mohammed Khatri, Nisar Khatri, Jaitun Khatri, Abid Khatri and Jahid Khatri of FA Enterprises, who have been charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating and forgery, among other crimes 8/n

The search of Khatri’s assets revealed that he owns four buildings in Khar (with 27000 sq ft of space), 18 vehicles, including 3 Mercedes & an Audi, 1.2kg of gold ornaments & 3kg of silver, according to Thane ACB. Very interesting thing follows next: 9/n

when ACB officers went to the PWD office in Mantralaya to check & verify the documents the firm had submitted for regn, the papers were nowhere to be found. They later found out that when renovation was on at Mantralaya, the papers had gone missing! #VohraReport Repeat!!! 10/n

The Irrigation Scam was not just a political financial scam but also a slap on the faces of the citizens especially farmers who were already reeling under droughts in the state - who can forget Ajit Pawar’s statement “Should we urinate”at that time? 11/n

Imtiaz Nisar Khatri is being investigated by NCB for his role as Drug Mafia.he was also named last year on TV by Lawyer Ashok Saraogi as being the drug kingpin - we need to ask ourselves - are we OK with goon connected political parties and leaders? 12/n

Agencies must investigate his role with Dubai linkages, drug mafia, BollyWood and Political Connections in his biz.
He is called a Builder, Film Producer, but in reality he is just part of the #CriminalParallelGovernment Nexus which #VohraReport spoke about 28 years ago! 13/n

Not just NCP, he is close to Shiv Sena too - he was co-producer of Marathi movie Hrudayantar along with Pratap Sarnaik’s son. Who is also being investigated by Agencies for multiple scams.

His links with everyone must be investigated thoroughly even if it is the topmost names in the film & political world.
And yes, this is the time Sedition Laws must be really used. After all, NarcoTerror is a National Security matter!
