The exchange about military, at this 2020 presidential election debate should be watched by everyone.

TFG said "I don't know Beau, I know Hunter," which in itself says A LOT. He wanted to focus on HB, fine. But in doing so he revealed his true colors.

There were multiple things said even in just a few minutes of that debate that were disgusting & should have rung alarm bells for more voters than they did.

Imagine running for president against someone whose son died recently & pretty much everyone knew that at the time, and..
... even with clear prompting from your opponent that you're wading into deep water (Biden's response was brilliant IMO), and you say out loud that you "don't know" his son, IOW you don't want to talk about him.

He darn well knew who Beau was & that he was a decorated veteran.
I get it, MAGA folk don't want to watch a video with @MaryLTrump criticizing Dear Leader. Even if you stop at 1 minute in, you can see the exchange.

In politics you never, ever, say unkind things about your opponent's deceased son. You never need to. It never helps you.
I'm proud of all those swing state voters who kicked him out of the White House and voted for Biden (who seems to improve all the time, TBH.)

Biden has regular statesman moments and they are a boon to a weary world. I know some will attack me for saying that and IDGAF.

A typically dishonest tweet from a #ProCovid grifter.

Mask mandates are life-saving in the school environment for <12 year olds who cannot currently be vaccinated.

Adults indoors in certain places may choose to wear a mask for the same reason I do: To promote mask use.
Check out his campaign ad for NYC Councilman (election is in less than a month's time.)

He has kids, and even (higher risk) disabled kids endorsing him, while he promotes anti-mask policies that risk their lives.

Oh & he's minority whip for GQPers on the NYC Council. Yikes.

I'm not saying masks can save lives like vaccination can, but they are better than nothing, in a room packed with kids who can't be vaccinated.

India had to rely on them during their catastrophic Delta wave. Image

Until #BlackLivesMatter, no lives will matter.

The facts about each case are unique. I try to understand them before taking a view. High profile examples for discussion:

Trayvon Martin
Dylann Roof
Elijah McClain
George Floyd
Jacob Blake
Kyle Rittenhouse
Ashli Babbitt
I chose the above 7 cases for good reason and it may take me a while to explain it for you. My goal is to show how different such cases can be, and why it is so important to base our views on verifiable facts, whether we like those facts or not. Back in a few minutes.
Often, both sides get this wrong. And that weakens the potential benefit of their campaigning.

Both sides accuse each other of wanting to start a "race war" in the US. That's not a useful construct if you want to achieve your political goals in the real world, right now.

As much as I agree with Biden's foreign and national security policies (the alternative is a literal terrorist network that set up Afghanistan to fail & freed 5k Taliban fighters for no reason), the US & KSA are backing the good guys in Yemen. You know, the lawful government.
In a place like Yemen, we in the international community don't have the option of sitting back and letting Iran's minions fully take over the country. (1) Humanitarian reasons, (2) They want to hold us to ransom by controlling the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

Easy decision for me.
Most in the English speaking media repeat the lie that the aggressors in Yemen are the KSA, UAE, and US. This lie began on Al Jazeera, which is owned by the Qatari regime, which supports the Iranian view of the region.

Think the Evergiven ship episode was bad? That's nothing...

It's easy af to hate the FBI.gov. Both sides do it.

Any LE agency makes mistakes & is vulnerable to corruption & mismanagement. They have >30,000 employees. I demand accountability while being grateful for all the carnage they prevent, that we never hear about.
I've followed closely the performance of Christopher Wray since his nomination for FBI Director.

IMO it's time for him to go. His response to the agency's mistakes & alleged biases has been weak, at best.

Surely there is someone in the US better qualified for the job?
Most of the FBI's work is successful and saves lives. Some of it is appallingly incompetent. The challenge is to address the failures while keeping the body as a whole functioning at at least it's current level.

New leadership would be a fresh start for the agency.

Thread: The public comments by Cassie Laundrie about her brother Brian Laundrie who is (likely) still on the run and widely suspected to have murdered Gabby Petito.

Cassie said things in the impromptu conversation with protesters & a TV interview.

Many are following this story and yes there are plenty of similar cases that get ignored but: I don't see the harm in following this one, at least until we find out if Brian Laundrie (BL) is alive and in custody, or otherwise.

It's a good way to raise domestic abuse awareness.
BL's sister Cassie has gone on the record now, to clear up some misconceptions. I think she did the right thing. As a DV survivor, I know some of what Gabby experienced in the days before her death. The gaslighting, manipulation, guilt, fear, shame etc.

That is a great image. The similarities between early Hitler-in-office and late Trump-in-office become clearer all the time.

He denied those who had to secure the Capitol on 1/6 that kind of protective riot gear, and he knew it. 140 injured cops; unforgivable.
And yes, Trump had a duty to make sure the usual federal security contributions AROUND the perimeter of the Capitol were there. He knowingly "let it happen on purpose" (LIHOP).

Hitler replaced one "security" branch, the Sturmabteilung (SA) with another, the Schutzstaffel (SS).
Compare TFG's actions & omissions in response to the summer 2020 BLM protests that in places became riots with his actions & omissions before& on 1/6.

Not just rank hypocrisy. Aiding & abetting domestic terrorism. (#StandBackAndStandBy 1 yr ago today!)
