The main idea behind the 2 minute rule is to slowly curb procrastination off the list of unhealthy habits.
There are different varieties and variations to this, but the main idea is to get started with what you can do under 2 minutes immediately without thinking.
The approximation can be a little off, sometimes it'll take more than 2 minutes to do a task you've estimated will take less than 2 minutes. But that's the beauty of it, once you start doing it, you'll keep doing it.
Because of this, it's quite crucial to identify what you want to accomplish before hand and plan the actions to accomplish it. If the action plan is huge, break it down to smaller pieces.
The rule primarily states :
"If you can do it within 2 minutes, do it. The task need not be a prioritized task, an important one etc. No bias, just do it"
"If it takes more than 2 minutes, then start it now. Start acting on small tasks and eventually you can tackle the whole"
