I know usual suspects within Uttarakhand will call FLS sanction by @narendramodi Govt for Tanakpur- Bageshwar Railway line as an election gimmick- but let me share my views as to why it is NOT a gimmick but a huge development that will make this line a reality - thread follows!

What is FLS in the context of Railways?

It can take anywhere b/w 1-2 years to complete FLS, it is done by efficient agency - given the experience of @RailVikas ,I feel it would be good if @AshwiniVaishnaw run ministry allots this survey to RVNL (gvn Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail experience) instead of Moradabad division.
The FLS for Rishikesh Karnprayag Railway line was completed in Sep 2013 as evident from the attached image but then fact is that it was inaugurated already by AK Antony (while FLS was on) on the eve of 2012 state elections and helped Cong win it. 
After Antony inaugurated project in 2012 & Cong won power, MMS Govt didn’t give it any importance nor issued funds - result was that the 2012 inaugurated project remained on papers until 2014. Then Cong MP @satpalmaharaj wrote letter complaining abt delay by @harishrawatcmuk Gov!
After PM @narendramodi unseated MMS in 2014,proj was again put on fast track mode but remained in limbo due to machinations of @harishrawatcmuk who kept delaying it. Work finally started ONLY after @BJP4UK of @tsrawatbjp replaced @INCIndia in state in 17! uttarakhandnewsnetwork.com/2017/12/work-b…
Thanks to @narendramodi Govt decision of declaring Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line as a project of national importance, the project is progressing at brisk pace- it took 162 day for KM2 to KM3 tunnelling but now that rate of 1 km tunnelling is down to 13 days.
At current rate - km tunnelling is down to 10 days - work is on for all 10 packages at different stages
31st Oct target is 150 meters per day of tunnelling or 1 kms every 7th day and once all tunneling work starts on every package, it will go lower with 1 kms per 6 days by end Nov. Station and bridges work is also undergoing. At this rate, much of tunneling shud be complete by 23
Coming back to Tanakpur- Bageshwar, the work for FLS will take close to a year or 1.5 yrs back. By then tunneling work for Rishikesh-Karnprayag line will be over & so land acquisition n trf can begin in right earnest in 2023. Key is to not repeat mistake of 2012
We have seen how project on Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line remained a non- starter due to machinations of @harishrawatcmuk & it could start only after BJP came to state- which is when all approvals were fast tracked and result is here to see- Kumaon will have to choose wisely

It is for ppl of Kumaon hills to vote judiciously and not fall for propaganda around surveys given past experience of previous govts -know that we have @narendramodi ji at centre and he is ur best bet for this proj become a reality/ so choose @BJP4UK for Tanakpur-Bageshwar line!
Everything written above is verifiable with records, budgets docs and even on ground - this is real pic of the site work in progress and Kumaon hills too deserve it as our @adgpi need it too!
Kudos to @pushkardhami Govt for persevering with it and now the real work of educating the masses abt the real meaning is needed- folks need to be educated about the games Cong played to delayed Rishikesh-Karnprayag and why we must stop them from doing same to Tanakpur-Bageshwar!
