She argues Rosa moved throughout the Capitol despite seeing clear signs of damage, tear gas, mayhem.... "He admitted he saw law enforcement trying to push people out of the Capitol"
Rosa is addressing the court seeking leniency, “I want to express my eternal gratitude to my family … and community”
Rosa is quoting James Madison. And says “I’m definitely not an angel…. I know my actions shocked my American friends… Or Creator gave me the ability to repent”
Judge: “Sir you participated in a shameful event… “
Judge says Rosa didn’t assault or cause damage but was part of a “mob”
Rosa gets probation.... and credit for turning himself in early

His judge went *above* recommended sentence yesterday in other case Image
Feds are seeking 3 months jail for Bauer and co-defendant Ed Hemenway.

They both have histories: Hemenway has criminal history for sexual battery. Bauer has drug cases and told feds he began distributing marijuana while in elementary school ImageImage
His lawyer says Bauer lost his job because of arrest.. and has trouble finding new work in the community in which he lives

(Many Jan 6 defendants have acknowledged losing jobs due to their arrests or notoriety)

NOW: DC federal judge is is threatening to hold the director of Washington DC Dept of Corrections in contempt, alleging failure to abide by court orders in handling of medical records of inmates in Jan 6 cases
Judge just accused the jail of "incompetence" in handling of court orders
One of the J6 inmates at the jail is Chris Worrell, who has a litany of medical conditions, including non-Hodgkins lymphoma & broken right hand

Judge wants medical records and alleges DC jail has not been following orders

Sentencing begins in 10 minutes in the Jan 6 case of Dona Bissey of Indiana, who's made several arguments seeking mercy of the court

Including her concern about COVID in prison, as she is unvaccinated

Prosecutor just said the feds offered probation when they first made the plea deal with Bissey.. and they're going to stick with their offer.

That's possibly a nod to the growing criticism of the "probation" deals being cut in Jan 6 cases

Sentencing at 10am in Jan 6 case of Robert Reeder

This case has had twists & turns, including the 11th hour reveal of new video of Reeder before his initial sentencing date in August, allegedly showing assault on police. But no new charge

We'll want to watch this hearing

As of tonight, there are 45 defendants in Jan 6 cases being held in the DC jail.
They are held together in what *they* call the “Patriot Wing”, per attorneys. An attorney for one of the inmates recently told a judge, the defendant sought to go “in the hole” voluntarily to get away from the others

NEW: Jan 6 defendant James Bonet of NY is pleading guilty to entering restricted building in Capitol.

Hearing is happening right now.

Among other things, Bonet was accused of smoking joint in Capitol
Prosecutors is reading through details of this misdemeanor guilty plea

"Mr Bonet entered Capitol ... at approximately 3:09pm." And entered Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) office and smoked marijuana, prosecutor says

Bonet acknowledges this is true
Bonet: "My attorney said..... acknowledging what I did was wrong would help me"

That's some type of frank response
