2. Savarkar gave Godse an advance of Rs 15,000 in 1944 to start a newspaper called Agrani. Godse was its editor & the newspaper dutifully disseminated Savarkar's viciously anti-Gandhi propaganda.
3. There was a failed attempt on Gandhi's life on 20th Jan, 1948. Madanlal Pahwa was arrested. Godse, Apte were also present at the venue, but they escaped and he alone was arrested. Pahwa, told the police: "Woh phir ayega." And wo phir aaya - after meeting Savarkar in Mumbai.
4. The Kapur Commission, which took a fresh look at the Gandhi assassination case concluded: "All these facts taken together were destructive of any theory other than the conspiracy to murder by Savarkar and his group."
