Today, the White House hosted 97 teachers from all over the country to celebrate their work and present them with 2020 and 2021 Teacher of the Year awards.

Here's what a few teachers had to say about what inspires them, and what their favorite part of the job is: THREAD
Chanda Jefferson, 2020 South Carolina Teacher of the Year, recalls how her high school Chemistry teacher — her only African American science teacher — ignited her love of STEM and inspired her to become an educator too.
Owen Bondono, 2021 Michigan Teacher of the Year says other great teachers, including his sister and 6th grade teacher, inspired him to teach. "Her small actions every day in the 6th grade, made me feel special... and made me want to help other people feel that same way."

In the fight against COVID-19, the strain on our hospital systems, our economy, and the risk to our children is too great not to use every tool available.

A new White House report explores how vaccination requirements save lives and are good for the economy.

THREAD:
It is clear that vaccination requirements result in more people vaccinated and save lives.

Vaccination requirements have increased vaccination rates by 20+ percentage points to over 90% in many organizations.

Today, President Biden met with CEOs and business leaders about addressing the debt limit. Here’s what a few of them had to say.

THREAD:
Citi CEO Jane Fraser: “I can tell you that from an economic perspective, we need to resolve this issue very quickly. Every day of delay right now comes at an increasing price… it will hurt consumers. It will hurt small businesses.”
President and CEO of Nasdaq, Adena Friedman: “When we look at these delays, and certainly a default, would mean that hardworking Americans would ultimately bear the burden.”
