The #bordersbill is back being discussed this week. Not only does it break multiple laws, but is also puts people's lives at risk. As shown below, child trafficking survivors are already being effectively abandoned by the Home Office. This risks making it worse. 1/

It's not even as though the UK has the legitimate argument that it is taking more asylum seekers than other countries. It ranks 14th when included with EU nations for the number it takes per 10,000 people in the population, 6/

It's also incredibly hard to see how they can even attempt to argue that those entering the UK via "irregular routes" aren't, what the government terms as, "legitimate refugees" while their own plans would criminalise those fleeing Afghanistan. 7/

Even the argument that asylum seekers should stay in the "first safe country", not that that term exists in international law anyway, fall down when you look at ow some are treated in certain EU nations, including France. 8/
