The idea that overruling Roe would "just" "send the issue back to the states" has always been deeply misguided. Congress and/or the Court could easily make Gilead national. Among the movement that dominates the federal judiciary it's already very thinkable

The lack of empathy in these takes has always been astounding. Even the most insulated Beltway pundit presumably knows people in or from Tampa or Houston or Atlanta. Do you think everybody in these states can afford plane tickets and hotel rooms to get a medical procedure?
