Rashmikka is an Applied Mathematics student who is going to talk about how important maths is in our daily lives 🧮👩💼 @MathsPathway@GWOMaths
Hi everyone, I am Rashmikka and I am here to tell you if you thought you wouldn’t use Maths in life, think again!
Maths is in every career you can think of, including my goal job growing up...an ice-cream truck driver. That uses a lot of Maths too! 📊🍦
Maths is often deemed useless or too hard but that’s not true! 🧠
When you think about it, different numbers, equations, and functions were used to make just about everything around us! ⚛️🧮
And who says it has to be boring? Colourful highlighters make everything better 🌈
Maths also saves lives!
Did you know that the channel island foxes were once endangered? 🦊
Using mathematical equations, experts could predict population growth, come up with solutions to prevent extinction, and increase the population of endangered species! 🥳
On the 25/10, we celebrate the birthday of a famous French mathematician, Évariste Galois, who solved a 350-year-old algebraic equation, which we still use today, known as group theory!
Évariste contributed a lot to Mathematical society and was also a political activist ✊
To finish off my post I have a sneaky poll for you guys! What do you think is the answer to this mathematical equation? (Poll in next comment)
What do you think the answer is to the above mathematical equation? 🤔
I hope you guys have learned something today and appreciate the wonderful thing that is Maths. It’s a beautiful thing to see numbers come together and hope you have been enlightened! 🥳🧮
Follow along as Aurelie shares her journey in STEM! 🌟 @LTUresearchers
Hi, I’m @AulieTsee and my journey in STEM started because of my love for food 🥦🍅
In high school, I studied food science and chemistry as I was curious about how all the delicious foods we eat are digested and absorbed into the body, and the science behind it all! 🔬🧪
The cooking practicals exams were quite stressful, I felt like I was in MasterChef (👩🍳), but I absolutely loved the theory behind food science so in 2013 I started a Bachelor in Human Nutrition @latrobe 👩🎓🔖 @LTUnutrition
Lizzie starts her day @WEHI_research checking emails, creating a to-list, and planning her experiments so they all fit in the day.
Lizzie is interested in cancer cells and how they respond to cancer treatment, let's follow along to learn more!
To conduct her research, @LizzieLieschke uses cancer cell lines pictured here, that act as a model for human cancer in the lab.
Lizzie starts in the lab by checking her cells and providing them with extra nutrients to grow, so they can be used for future experiments.
