If trump gets re-elected it will be because progressive incompetence and a severe lack of leadership.

We have must be better organized than ever before in our nations history to proactively prevent Donald Trump‘s slow moving coup.

The cost of incompetence is death.
I am just 21 years old and I’ve been doing this work for almost 4 years now and already it has become abundantly clear if we fail it is because of severe incompetence and a lack of leader ship on our side
Leadership
There is so much failing upwards on our side it is truly astonishing
If there’s anything that would ever make me stop it’s getting extremely frustrated and refusing to waste my time on such incompetence and failing upward.

As much as I want to make everyone feel good our first priority needs to be results and being honest with ourselves

It is possible to see that Democrats are clearly the better option when it comes to addressing gun violence and also see that they have totally fucking failed to follow through on 95% of their promises.
Before you start saying but what about the filibuster?

They could do far more via reconciliation and left the filibuster for Gun Violance Prevention
+ Biden failed to get his nominee through for ATF Director literally bare fucking minimum. He has not appointed a national Director of Gun Violance Prevention as he promised (no sen conf needed) AND The department of justice is actively fighting to protect PLCAA

So I’m watching @lisaling last episode on conspiracy theories and just heard that in 2021 15% of the American public still believe that the government is controlled by a secret group of pedophiles.

That’s deeply concerning.
You only need 3.5% of the population to overthrow a government and we live in a country with more guns than people.

This is a serious threat to our republic and our national security. We have enough useful idiots and guns for something horrific to happen.
Active measures by the Russian SVR (former KGB) in collaboration with the IRA could weaponize this and get our republic to destroy itself with our firing a single shot.

We our leaders need to get their shit together.

So I’m in LA for work meetings this weekend- it’s 60-65° - Half the people I’ve met with are in puffer jackets and Uggs.
In the past four years I’ve lived in a place where this happens but when it’s below 75°(Florida) and now I live in Boston where already this semester I’ve seen it be 45° outside and people are in tank tops 😅
I lived in LA until I was 14 so this isn’t super surprising to me I guess I just kind of forgot having been on the East Coast for the past 7 years. I remember when it would rain when I was growing up in LA- it might as well have been a blizzard no one went out no one can drive

🧵 Florida is not a lost cause. 🧵

There’s huge potential for 2022, 2024 and beyond.

If we get to work now we could help millions of Floridians over the next decade but we have to believe it’s possible, have the right leaders and the right plan.
Florida will be disproportionately impacted by climate change and the communities with the least resources will be the most impacted.

We need to get to work now to fight for Floridians- not lobbyists, and create an accessible political system to help those who need it most.
We do not have a choice, if Florida is to have a future above water we must get to work now.

As part of a class project I'm going to be doing a weekly twitter space interviewing young organizers, elected officials and journalists in the state of FL.

I have two questions:

What should it be called?
Who should would you like me to interview?
Some names I have heard suggested:

-Sawgrass Roots
-The sandbar
-The Florida Reef / The Reef
-Orange Blossoms
-It's not a swamp, it's a river of grass
- Fire coral/ Fire coral chat
-Florida Organizers weekly brief
Suggest more below
The format is not totally set yet- it will probably expand beyond young people. It’s just I want to make sure young people are included in these conversations as we’re often not.
