How to make $10k in Q4 selling candy

/ thread
Americans are projected to spend $3 billion this year on Halloween candy ALONE

The average spend per person for holiday candies after Halloween is $150

That's conservatively over $15 billion on tasty goodies in November and December

Let's get a piece of that pie
There are 3 main ways where you can buy candy to resell

-Online
-Discount stores
-Regular grocers with sales ads
Each week, Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, etc will be running ad flyers for different seasonal candies

I have found the best places to be drug stores, where you can find candies up to 75% off

Check your local ads every week to find the deals
There are 3 main ways to sell the candy

-Selling bundles
-Selling individuals
-Creating your own listings
Selling Bundles

Since shipping cost is usually the same for an individual or a bundle, the most profitable listings will be for bundles.

This will require a manual Amazon search for a good listing.
Study the Keepa chart to determine your profit, fees, and whether Amazon is in stock.

Also pay close attention to what the candy does during the upcoming holiday period between Black Friday and Christmas.
Selling Individuals

This is usually less profitable, since you will have a minimum fee that will only go up slightly when selling a bundle.

However, for some higher priced candies or limited editions, this may be your best option.
Creating Your Own Listings

This is by far the most profitable, but requires the most skill and carries risk.

You will need to have good SEO, experience with creating Amazon listings, and likely will use PPC ads to drive traffic to your listing.
Discount Store Candy

Discount stores like Dollar Tree and Dollar General have amazing prices on popular candy that is often not found in regular retailers.
Simple take pictures of the shelves in your store and do your research at home, or do research right in the aisle.

I use Scoutify 2 and have my Keepa linked to my account for easy research.
Here is a great bundle

at $1 cost each, your total cost is $12 with a low selling price of $31.96

After fees, that brings your net profit to $8.89 ea or 74% ROI
Amazon is nearly never on the listing and it is top 1%

This is a great find!
If you have 6 Dollar Tree stores in you area, and you can get 2-3 bundles per store

That's $160.02 profit on just one candy bundles

Multiple that times that sheer number of candies found at retailers, and you can make a killing!
At an average return of $7 and with one restock per week, you can find 15 different bundles at your stores which turn 6 times over the next 6 weeks

Bringing you a total of $11,340 in profit

Just don't get high on your own supply.

Some old guy stopped me in the store and started telling me a story

Guy was 70-80s

ALWAYS stop and listen to what sage wisdom they may have to impart

He began

“My friend Jim forgot his anniversary..”

(Cont 👇🏻)
“His wife was livid. She told him:

‘Tomorrow, when I look out in the driveway, I better see a gift that goes from 0-250 in seconds.’

Sure enough, the next morning she looked into the driveway and saw a box. But it was much smaller than a car..?

She opened it to find..
A bathroom scale.

I haven’t heard from Jim since.”

Then the old man walked away without another word 😂

Stewardship

Never complain, never explain.

Your friends don’t care and your enemies won’t believe you.

If you complain (about anything), you are asserting that you know better than God, and that whatever He has given to you is not right for you.
Finances

You can’t take it with you.

A question I am asked often: how do you find collectibles and limited items?

There are lots of different ways - this is my favorite.
I get a little distracted, and if you do too, that is great news!

Getting distracted and following your curiosity is one of the best ways to find profitable items.

How to find Wholesale Suppliers

(the easy way)

/thread
Amazon is getting stricter with sellers.

Lose a shipment?

They won't take a receipt, they need an invoice.

Retail / Online Arbitrage is a great way to start and to make a good living

BUT

You should hedge your business with multiple sources of business income.
Wholesale is a great option - here's why:

-Lower prices
-Higher barrier of entry
-Larger product selection
-Get ungated in anything they carry
-Lower margins but higher volume/ availability

How to go from $0 to $2000+/month flipping

/thread
People message me all the time asking how they can start flipping with $0 cash.

It's easier than you think.

This is how.
Find free stuff.

People give away free stuff ALL. THE. TIME.

They don't feel like donating it or selling it, they would rather you come and pick it up.

-Go get it
-Clean it up
-Sell it on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace

When I first started on Amazon, I bought a course by @MediaBoca that taught me how to sell used media on Amazon.

Most interesting to me was the books.

But I did not like going into most thriftstores / Goodwills because it was either junk or over priced.
