I don't how and when Deepawali or Diwali or Maha Lakshmi poojan or Maha Kali Poojan slowly became fancy dress 'cards Party' over single malt followed by loud music and biryani ?

Please understand your festivals.

A thread on importance of Kartik Krishna Amavasya or Deepawali.

Festival of Diwali, Deep Daan, Maha Lakshmi Jayanti, Maha Kali Jayanti and Mahaveer Nirvan Diwas are all celebrated on the day of Amavasya or Kartik month of hindu calendar.

This day is of immense astrological and occult importance.

Ever noticed that Diwali falls on a different date every year of Gegorian or western calander?

This is because the date has to be carefully chosen by Siddhant Jyotish to fulfill a specific astronomical configuration.

This day Kartik Amavasya is celebrated as Diwali.

Itihas or history says that Lord Ram came back to Ayoudhya on this day, after competing long years of exhile.

Ravan was killed on Dushera which is 20 days before Diwali.

Shri Ram chose jayanti of Maha Lakshmi and Maha Kali as his arrival back to capital with wife Shri.

Since then we started celebrating Diwali as well with Maha Kali Jayanti and Maha Lakshmi Jayanti.

Earthend lamps were lit and sensible play of fire crackers were done by people to celebrate arrival of Shri Ram in Ayodhya.

A religious and customary practice of Hindu dharam.

Maha Kali is the presiding deity of Kali Karm of Dus Mahavidya. The supreme seat along with Maa Bhuvneswari in Sakt sampraday.

Diwali is Maha Kali Jayanti.

The most significant day of the year for Shakt sampraday.

This day is marked for occult and spiritual practices. Ideally a upwaas shall be observed during the day time.

Finish of with greetings and social exchanges by early evening.

Start Maha Lakshmi Poojan after sunset. Finish it up with lighting diyas.

After this traditionally, we used to light up our homes with diyas and celebrate with crackers.

Upwaas is concluded with light falahar dinner.

And then in the silence of mid night you take a deep deep deep meditative dive in Maha Kali Jayanti!

That is how I like my Diwali!

Sharaab, kabbab, Jua recreation hai Diwali nahi!

Shri Ram choose Diwali as the day of his re-arrival to his capital and Lord Mahaveer chose this day for his
Maha -Nirvaan...

We choose this day to dress up fancily, show off, exchange chocolates, gamble and get drunk!

What a fantastic fall of society!
