>>Thread<<
Getting your first 1k followers is the most difficult milestone

There're many courses preaching about ways to do it, but if you don't do the core basics, your growth will be slow or hollow

Get there the right way and you'll see traction leading to more and more growth
1. Know Your Target Audience

Try to attract every type of person and you'll attract no one

You need:
•a niche
•a problem you solve
•a reason people come to your account

If you've no idea who your target audience is, write to your past self - You've many lesson to teach
2. Optimize your bio

You have 7 seconds to make a good impression on potential followers

✅ High quality profile picture
✅ A banner that's attractive and states what you do
✅ Bio that explains in detail or gives authority
✅ Call to action (e.g. DM me, link to product)
3. Adopt a creator's mindset

You are no longer a consumer. You are a creator.

The time you spend on twitter is to create. Stop scrolling aimlessly on the timeline.

Your task is to use twitter as a tool, don't let it use you
4. Curate your consumption

You will need to draw inspiration from elsewhere on twitter

Only consume quality

Garbage in = garbage out

Producing garbage content encourages the wrong crowd

Quality content encourages a quality audience
5. Build Brand Awareness

You've seen the '50 comments a day' advice. But there's more to it

•find a big account in your niche
•be one of the first to comment on tweets
•comment on replies to the original tweet

Be strategic with your engagement. It saves you time
6. Build a twitter list

This makes it easier to comment effectively instead of scrolling on the timeline

Make the list private and follow everyone you put on that list

Develop a daily practice of using the list to comment
7. Comment and Retweet with value

DON'T reword the tweet -> add value
☝️ Read that again

Retweet if you think your audience will like it

Quote Retweet for adding value and sharing with your audience

Be funny if you want. Don't be a robot
8. Tweet strategically

Under 1K you only need 2-4 tweets a day

Understand different tweets
👉 engagement tweets to get more likes, comments, retweets
👉 authority tweets to show your value
👉 story/transformation tweets to gain true fans

It's not all an engagement game
9. Pin Your Best Authority or Story Tweet/Thread

Note: Viral tweets are not usually the best for getting new followers, but help the algorithm favor you

Followers come for the story. Customers pay for the value

Make it easy for them to find
10. Join Growth Groups

You need eyes on your content

These groups are great when you don't have a big account to help you

They are a stepping stone to get your content getting out seen

They're also a place to make new connections and learn from others
The Best Growth Group is Masterclass 24/7

With 10 mentors
•save time
•learn what works
•get eyes on your posts
•build a winning brand for the long term

11. Build Your Niche Network

Many newbies get trapped in growth groups that aren't related to their niche, especially free ones

If you don't enjoy the growth group stop using it

Find similar sized accounts in your niche and build with them

Brainstorm and help each other out
12. DM people

The best things on twitter are what you don't see on timelines

Get social and DM people

•compliment their work
•offer advice and help
•make friends
•be genuine

This is where the magic happens 🪄
13. Undo retweets after 24 hours

People come on your page to see your content. Not for retweets

New followers will likely scroll down your page. You want to keep them on it

Keep your page clean
14. Retweet your tweets within 24 hours

The first 24 hours are the best time for your tweets

Every few hours after posting, retweet it

Your tweet will show on the timeline to people who didn't see it the first time
15. Shoutouts

Too much and it looks spammy

Not enough and you aren't using an awesome growth technique
(note to self 😏)

Don't shoutout accounts 10x ahead of you. Shoutout accounts smaller or about your size

Tell the people ahead of time. Get them to retweet
16. Make threads

Just like this thread, you can fill a lot more information than one tweet

Under 1k, one or two threads a week is plenty

Tuesday - Friday Morning EST is best time for USA

Make sure you get your network to help with its reach
17. Create Balance

Many new twitter creators get burnt out

If this is you, try this 👇
•make a specific time to comment and reply to comments
•schedule tweets (use tweetdeck.twitter.com for FREE)
•turn off notifications

Remember twitter growth is a marathon not sprint
18. Put in the work

Twitter Growth tactics won't work if you don't work

Don't expect to grow without doing anything

These tactics are free. The price to pay is your effort

An acne ridden face does more than make you feel ugly

99% of Acne Creams DON’T WORK

A natural remedy DOES

I struggled with acne problems for years until I figured it out...

//Thread//
My Struggle:

Since I was 9, I've had acne

I was never a 'cool' kid, and acne made me feel very self conscious

People staring at them while talking to you. 'Cool' kids pointing them out. Whispers while you walk passed.

Every time in the mirror, noticing another red one...
This got worse as I got into my teens...

I tried OTC acne creams and had the same problem no matter which one I used:

1st - my face dried up, less inflammation
2nd - my face got more oily
3rd - more inflammation
4th - more anxiety

And try again

My Nan was my life idol

So full of life until the very end

She taught me how to live life to the full

Here are some sayings she would always say, the stories that are connected to them and what she meant by them

This one was hard to write

//Thread//
1. "People are people"

Story: During WW2, my nan was sent to the countryside. A German prisoner killed a snake and said "I save you"

He was meant to be the enemy, but showed kindness

Lesson: No matter a person's background, how they treat and act is what matters
2. "It's not what you know, it's who you know"

Story: Wherever Nan frequently shopped from, she would always get to know the manager or boss

She bypassed a lot of problems and got great deals

Lesson: Knowing the right person will give you better options and access

The Mental Trap that's Holding You Back

//Thread//
“ I can’t quit smoking.”

“I can’t stop eating junk food.”

“I’m bad at remembering names.”

“Only children can learn a language well.”

If any of these sound like you, you have a case of Learned Helplessness
What Is Learned Helplessness?

If you want to live in another country, you need to read this

//Thread// Image
I've lived in 3 countries: UK, New Zealand and China
