Spearheaded by the UK, a coalition of 190 countries and orgs have followed our example by agreeing to phase out coal power

With the cost of clean energy dropping, moving away from coal is the obvious choice

✅a 76% collapse in the global pipeline of proposed coal power plants since the Paris Agreement in 2015

✅welcoming 28 new members including 🇸🇬 & 🇨🇱 signing up to the Powering Past Coal Alliance

✅commitments from 🇨🇳 🇯🇵 🇰🇷 & G20 to end overseas finance for coal generation by end 2021, ending all public financing of new unabated coal power

✅harnessing the full potential of clean power with 🇮🇳through global interconnected electricity grids

✅announcing a new energy transition partnership with 🇿🇦 worth $8.5bn

✅jointly contributing up to $2bn with 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 & 🇩🇪 for new energy programmes, including £200m for the Accelerating Coal Transitions programme

✅publishing a Biomass Policy Statement, giving an early indication of priorities and intentions for biomass use ahead of a full Strategy in 2022
