1/(1) quality games like mmo and 4x online are still 18-24 months away since it has taken too long to recruit developers. However, things different in Chinese mainland, a few experienced workers in Tencent, Netease, and Mihoyo turns to blockchain due to the repressive policy.
1/(2) Unfortunately, the first group of these developers marketed and operated their games by following southeast Asian teams instead of bring their superiority into full play, and ultimately brought themselves into discredit.
1/(3) Even though, some development teams form East Asia with the best game resources that have been acquired by Tencent and Netease are now looking for blockchain distributors. They know their games are unprecedented as other teams either being short of tech or needing much time
2/(1) It's still too early to talk about items cross games not only because it's quite challenging but also not incentive. It will disrupt player's flow experience unless collecting Johnny silverhand's equipments in Death Stranding cuz I'm the accurately targeted player of both..
2/(2) Still, decentralized game engine deserves more attention, which is not game maker in sandbox games but powerful engines like Unity and Unreal. Although it seems a long journey, the development of browser game engines is already underway.

Few tips for game studios that devote to a gamefi project ⬇️
1/ user-oriented: find your target players asap and customize the project. The developers' expectancy and the market's need varies, so you'd better choose your side and set a criterion at the very beginning.
2/ short-term+hot money: (1) web first: consider about the web design when prepare promotion materials and create a clear consumer guidance. Maybe it's too late to imitate cute animals like Axie but you can still attract users with exquisite concept paintings.
2/(2) make the game simple and addictive: There's no need to be creative on tokenomics, just modify it through learning from successful cases (most on bsc). Take advantages of gambling game. Turn-based games are fine but I personally prefer real-time strategy / casual.
A gamefi team asked me to work with them last night...literally "work" 😳as a designer to build the takenomics or community. It reminds me to tweet more English content,or translate previous tweets into English due to most of gamefi projects abroad.🤔
Though I can't participate in other gamefi projects due to my crowded schedule, it's significant to keep communication with developers over the seas. There hasn't been a perfect case in the brand new ecosystem, thus we have to research in-depth and learn from each other.
Here's my advice to them: 1. Enrich your website instead of putting a web game directly, because people want to dive into your team, road map, takenomics and etc. Detailed information benefits to build a stronger trust between the players and the developers.
