#COP26 President Sharma asked to close the informal stocktake, but parties asked to take the floor.
Guinea, for G-77/China:
- pleased with the Santiago Network functions
- extremely disappointed with a dialogue on loss and damage, but willing to compromise, says the dialogue will have an end goal of establishing a loss & damage facility.
China says the text is "by no means perfect," but does not intend to re-open it. Suggests small amendments, calls on parties to show willingness for compromise.
In the informal stocktaking, President Sharma says that there key issues where there is no clarity on a way forward.
He asks parties for their solutions and guidance on how to proceed. #COP26
Russia highlights Article 6 and the transparency framework that need more work.
Canada supports strong language on mitigation and rights of Indigenous Peoples in the cover decisions, but says loss and damage discussions not reflected in the text.
Moderator @TuMy_Tran, Head of Sustainable Mobility, @ICLEI, provided an overview of ICLEI's EcoMobility Alliance which promotes environmental and inclusive travel and EcoLogistics programmes which encourages circular and regional economies
An-Pang Kao, Deputy Mayor, Taoyuan City, Taiwan, and Chair of @ICLEI's EcoLogistics community, highlighted five demonstration projects in Taoyuan City to test various solutions, such as #renewableenergy and hydrogen vehicles.

We're still digesting the Article 6 texts. But, on the cover decisions...
Many of the ideas first published as bullet points are not in the revised text.
Most of these are not lost, they have agenda items where outcomes are expected.
There are references to important scientific outputs expected next year, including from the @IPCC_CH. Next year is the start of the technical phase of the Global Stocktake, so science will matter doubly.
