How I generated 183 registrations in <72 hrs for my LinkedIn Profile Optimization Masterclass using nothing but LinkedIn Events...

Why LinkedIn Events are an insane opportunity you can no longer afford to ignore...

[STORY THREAD]
7 days ago I thought I'd test using LinkedIn Events for an online Masterclass (1hr Zoom call) I'm running about LinkedIn profile optimization...

2
The first few days I sent automated event invitations via Expandi v2

The problem was the limit is 100 a day - I was sending about 60-70...

I got about 20-30 registrations in a few days, which was cool, but I wanted more...

3
So I started using the invitation tool
built into LinkedIn events

You can invite 1000 people per week - no cost.

Rather than 60-70 per day I sent about 900 in one minute instead...

I now got dozens of new registrations rather than just 1s and 2s at a time...

4
Now that's already amazing...

Remember that EVERY week you can send 1000 invitations to existing connections

However I normally generate at least 300+ new connections every single month, so I have plenty of people to reach out to just from one account...

5
But here's where it gets crazy good...

Not only can event organizers invite 1000 people per week to their events

* ATTENDEES CAN TOO *

That's right, ANY event participant - who accepted an event invitation - can invite 1000 of THEIR connections AS WELL to the same event...
So I invited a team member to the event...

They accepted...

Then immediately invited 1000 of THEIR connections to the same event.

...and the attendee count spiked AGAIN

But I didn't stop there...

7
I invited another internal team account

They accepted the invite

Then sent 1000 invitations AGAIN to their connections

To be fair, this one we did the next day to spread things out a bit

The result?

100-150 registrations total in 24-48 hours

8
Imagine this...

There's NO limit to how many 'attendees' can send 1000 invitations PER WEEK - all for the same event.

Let's do some simple math to show the compound effect of this...

9
Let's say you have 4 weeks to promote your event

...and 3 accounts with relevant connections.

Each account can send 4 x 1000 = 4,000 invitations TOTAL.

Multiplied by 3 accounts = 12,000 invitations in ONE MONTH for ONE event!

10
For my 'test' event I'm seeing a 7% event acceptance rate

7% of 12,000 invitations

= 840 LEADS ALL registered for YOUR event

and what's more...

LinkedIn sends your event invitees MULTIPLE REMINDERS to accept your invitation...

11
LinkedIn also sends MULTIPLE REMINDERS to participants so that they show up

We're talking a week before, 3 days before, 24 hrs before, 1 hour before and even just as the event begins.

FIVE reminders
* 840 attendees
= 4,200 messages LinkedIn sends about YOUR event

12
These numbers are INSANE

Yes having a good number of connections to invite is important for this to work

But its easy to get connections

Use your 'team' accounts for leverage

Between 3 accounts you should be getting 1000 new connections every single month

13
Btw everyone who registers for your event you can MESSAGE via LinkedIn

even if you're NOT directly connected with them

(remember, they were invited from another account as well as yours)

So now you can follow up with your leads even if they don't show to the event itself

14
Let's recap...

LinkedIn let's you invite INSANE numbers of people to your LinkedIn Events

It follows up for you so they show up

It lets you message them even if you're not connected

The outreach potential is crazy...

This is the WILD WEST right now

BUT...

15
It will NOT be like this forever

Once more people use event invitations like this, LI will start LIMITING invitations

It will then make you PAY via ads instead

So take advantage RIGHT NOW while you can

Peace

Public service announcement

If you use Mailgun

and ANY third party domain warming software like WarmupInbox

Its time you STOP...

[SHORT THREAD]
Yesterday my Mailgun acccount was shut down because of 'suspicious activity'

The main issue was the spam-like nature of the messages sent by the warming software

Like this subject line "Any salad dressing can organize a lover about a | wuI"

2.
However using automated 3rd party services is essentially against AUP in any case

But sending spam-like messages with automation software is just plain asking for trouble...

RECOMMENDATIONS are the most valuable yet under-optimized part of your LinkedIn profile.

Virtually nobody pays attention or prioritizes increasing these.

Yet when I check out your profile, the first thing I'm looking for is what other people say about you.

// LI Recommendations //

You can only get recommendations from your existing Level 1 connections

So be sure to send a connection request to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR CLIENTS

Recommendations from your colleagues or boss are useless zero unless you're looking for a job.

Like all good testimonials, the more specific they are the better...

This is from Dustin, one of my recent Recommendations, about his consultancy call with me:

This is the #1 question I get asked about LinkedIn outreach...

"𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘐 𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘺 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵'𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮?"

#1 You don't want to use your personal profile to prospect for anyone other than you

You SHOULD be prospecting yourself so you can

> Gain more clients
> Gain experience how to use LinkedIn

Experimenting using your clients' accounts isn't recommended

Be your own client first
#2 People mainly connect with you because of your profile strength NOT your connection message

The importance of connection messages is overrated

Your prospects want to see your profile and will JUDGE you on it.

If you look like an expert

They are MUCH more likely to accept

Here's my BRAND NEW LinkedIn outreach workflow for all clients...

[SHORT THREAD]

LET'S GO...
STEP 1

Compile a target list of prospects as normal (Sales Nav or Apollo)

Create a saved search or csv file to upload into the automation tool.

Then onto Step 2...
STEP 2

Upload the list into the tool and find out which of these prospects has an OPEN PROFILE

LinkedIn users with an open profile allow you to send them a message without connecting first

This is 100% FREE

In my testing so far I find about 20-30% have an open profile.

LinkedIn outbound message TEARDOWN...

"The exact WRONG way to engage your prospects on LinkedIn...

...and what you SHOULD do instead."

[SHORT THREAD] LinkedIn outbound message TEARDOWN Example
MISTAKE #1 - Targeting

I've tweeted about this non-stop...

The FIRST thing you need to get right is your targeting

Pitching a LinkedIn outreach service to someone who offers LinkedIn outreach services

...only shows you have NO CLUE what you're doing at all.

2
MISTAKE #2 - LinkedIn profile headline

This headline is just terrible...

"Generating clients; growing your business; sharpening your toolbox."

a 0/10 score...

...and this person is a LinkedIn expert?
