Looking at Blend Labs $BLND. I knew a bit about them a while ago, and then I saw $SOFI and $UPST came out from nowhere? The difference is it seems the latter 2 is B2C, vs the former is B2B. Btw, the CEO interview during Blend IPO. cnbc.com/video/2021/07/…
I bought a bit $BLND shares. After reading its S-1 filling. sec.gov/Archives/edgar… /2
There is a motley fool article (fool.com/investing/2021…) and a youtube video ( 46 mins) as well. #BlendLabs $BLND #fintech #B2B /3
Btw, another disclosure: I heard about Blend Labs from LinkdedIn top 50 startup couple years ago. And at one point I applied for a position there. blend.com/careers/openin… (this opening, tech support, no longer exist). In a way Blend Labs does things similar to my MC job. /4
Came across the linkedIn top 50 startup for year 2019. I think Blend Labs may be on 2018 list. Noticed quite a few familiar names on the 2019 list, including No. 1 snowflake $SNOW. linkedin.com/pulse/linkedin… /5
I could be wrong. I don't see Blend Labs on the year 2018 list either. Saw Snowflake $SNOW on the 20th spot in that year. linkedin.com/pulse/linkedin… /6

The self checkout at grocery store and warehouses. Personally I think Costco $COST got it right, they have plenty of staffs to assist: for scanning as well as alcohol overwrite. Sam’s Club has one staff helping multiple lanes, but it also has a #scanandgo option in its app. /1
The scanning feature in the app works fairly well in my opinion. Local grocery stores Dierbergs and Schnucks have self checkout lanes too. I go to Schnucks more often and have used it’s self checkout many times: and yesterday evening I made a blunder as I had too many items /2
Their self scanning system was not designed to handle more than 10 items, also sometimes it’s hard to scan the bakery 🧁 items in plastic box, as well as meat 🥩 items /3

Uipath Insider Trades $4.5M In Company Stock finance.yahoo.com/news/uipath-in… via @Yahoo || This seems the reason for today's $PATH drop. Similar #TOST drop last few days (although the #Toast insider selling agreement is a bit convoluted, at least to me :-)
I am thinking a balanced approach for insider (especially founder) selling. On one hand, they should be able to sell some stocks to maintain their lifestyle (this is same for everyone, not same level, I mean the need of cash for lifestyle). At the same time, I think they... /2
should have #skininthegame by owning most of their net-worth in the company stocks. A similar rationale for CEOs who get a lot of company stock options. But the game was usually rigged in the latter scenario because CEOs / companies' stock buyback to pop up stock price. /3

NerdWallet Pops in IPO, Outshining Home Decor and Police Gear Debuts | The Motley Fool $NRDS fool.com/investing/2021…
NerdWallet seems found a niche in credit card rewards and personal finance (travel) space. It seems they are the biggest in the space.
A similar website is thedoctorofcedit.com. The latter is likely much smaller. I used to work in the credit card rewards space. It’s probably a more addictive feature compared to checking / saving account new account bonus. Think it more like $LULU vs $PTON /3

They choose China 他们选择中国 2005 via @YouTube || I heard about horrendous Chinese PoW stories in Korean war: both those that chose coming back to China, and those decided going to Taiwan. I think relatively speaking, the American PoWs were lucky. /1
About 10 years ago, I toured DC, and visited the war memorial place near Lincoln Memorial. koreanwarvetsmemorial.org/the-memorial/ || This reminded me some of the readings I had about Korea war. I think I agree with one of the war vet said in the youtube above: that is, war is basically BS. /2
PoWs traditionally were treated worse in China, compared to in the US. I mean the PoWs came back home. But I was a bit surprised some American PoWs were punished after the Korean war, during the McCarthy era. newyorker.com/news/news-desk… /3

Recently I received an unexpected bill from the Scholastic, the book publisher that does school book fair and book club. Upon further research I found it's likely related to my older daughter's book fair purchase. But there are two issues: 1) I gave e-wallet to my daughter, /1
2) I talked to my daughter and the amount seems not matching ($22 in the bill vs probably $12 spend). She no longer has the receipt, I know I know no judgement here. I was about to pay then I decided to give Scholastic a call due to some feedback associated with them. /2
Customer rep on phone is very polite, listened to my explanation, and said "I heard some complaints related to e-wallet. And I will bring up in our next meeting" or something like that. I told her the transaction number and all related info. She said my account has 0 balance. /3
