For years, their have been condescending pricks that never created a damn thing in their lives except arrogant hot takes by trying to slap down the little guys about the precision of memes and words like fund, etc.

1/x
For years, "economists" in their zeal and hatred for certain activists, talk shit and literally grandstand as they hold court talking about how only the holy of holies have any right to speak much less take action. The shit heads have made the lives of many people shitty.
They are the scorned ex lovers that try with all their 30+ years of being an economist who had nothing to say, suddenly hump the legs of activists who have more voice than they do and try to tear them down. I have dealt with this kind of condescending elitism for a long ass time.
I find it to be disgusting exactly how it was when the old priests attempted to tell lay people they had no right to read or talk about the bible. The religion is a cult and the behavior the stuff of horror movies. So arrogant and condescending and ultimately shameful.
Rather than come to an activists thread and talk about what they might say differently, they haughtily mouth off and you know what? It makes them look like a shitty little bully hanging out with elementary school kids and picking on them. Absolutely disgusting.
No one is perfect but when an "PhD economist of 30 years" decides to deride activists and condescend against them they can fuck right off.
Period.
First tweet... Damn autocorrect and no edit button. "There"
It makes an activist wonder why they don't just stop trying and just let the "30 year economists" who never made a dent in their entire paid careers just take over... But then you realize they did nothing in 30 years and life is too precious to allow their BS to derail you.
What's worse is the pettiness is so prevalent, contagious and vile that it will be celebrated because bad actors found their opportunity and opportunists do what they do.

The Progressive left have LONG had the right policy plans based on putting people first. The problem has always been how will you pay for it. That question still looms today & sadly many headline activists see winning the people collecting & missing the #MMT education aspect

Like a man who is sitting at a dinner table with his mouth sewn shut, Progressives and leftists as a whole have not been able to save lives with these programs and they screw it up with "pay fors", getting absolutely nothing, and yes, like this pandemic, people die, dead.
And because these incredible programs are never enacted & always have a stupid "pay go" trade off/ "offset", someone gets hurt. In fact, yes, many die very unnecessary deaths.

Power dynamics require the population to wake up and push back. That comes with knowledge. #MMT

Fuck structural adjustment programs. Seriously. Global neoliberalism & the global race to the bottom is so immense... So unbelievably immense... I just don't think many are willing to really understand global capital and the noose we are in with capture & propaganda. Staggering.
Look at the local issues identified in the works of @DavarianBaldwin as he dug into the role of the University system predating and alienating upon the communities they reside. His book is a must read...

#MMT is accounting.
MMT is macroeconomics.
MMT represents legal relationships.
MMT provides a Lens.
Politics is about our values
MMT allows our values, not affordability to express the realm of possibilities.

MMT is apolitical, but the big reveal is your values can no longer be hidden by the gaslighting question "How are you gonna pay for it"...
No, MMT shines the spotlight on the naysayers because we can now see them without their masks... they are naked before us... showing their racism, classism and hate for all of us to see and judge who they are and clearly see their motive.

The only way to expand human needs based capitalism is to expose the people to stark need. By instituting a UBI or Universal Basic Income, they further put the screws to the people in preparation for exactly that. Expanded capitalism and removal of safety nets.

The goal of the neoliberal is to destroy the legacy of FDR and push us to Wall Street. The only way they can do that is with our own self mutilation by accepting neoliberal solutions for the public spaces.
I am despondent that our very lives will be forfeit by the knife well meaning ignoramuses in our midst will bury deep into our backs.

The answer is not a UBI but rather a well considered Federally Funded, Locally Administered Job Guarantee as a Right.

An (un)official Real Progressives update:

Microsoft started in a garage. The Homebrew Computing Club.

Gates, Wozniak and Jobs were not exactly what you call... activists... then. They were visionaries.

They started with an idea. 1/x

@RealProgressUS @RP_In_Action
Then they took certain steps to build the foundations of the idea... and began making the idea a reality

It took a lot of commitment when it was just an idea. A lot of people had to lift the heavy bags, turn the screws and pound the nails...
They didn't start out ruling the world. Nor did they do it alone. Nor was it w/out tireless efforts & lots of unpaid hours building the dream.

The same w/ @RealProgressUS ...

No, I am not comparing us with Microsoft, Apple or Google... I am merely pointing to a vital truth...

Venting...

1. Most think America is broke so it cannot afford the fixes or massive overhauls required.

1/x
2. Most believe that the nation is in staggering debt and is dependent on wealthy people to save us so they get defeated
3. States are directly impacted by the ebbs and flows of federal spending as all new money comes from the federal government, not the rich
