Hi!

Emergency Doctor here

Small correction to our friend's rant...

1. Meat and fish can take as long as 2 days to fully digest

2. Most vegetables are NOT digested by human beings but instead go straight through the GIT untouched

let me explain point 2 with a short thread 🧵
Your body can't digest or absorb fiber.

Both insoluble (wheat bran, veggies, and whole grains) and soluble (oats, fruits, veggies, and beans) fiber are not digestible.
Insoluble fiber provides bulk to our stool and food for our healthy gut bacteria, and soluble fiber helps slow down digestion and can even have a positive impact on heart health
Seeds often go undigested.

Raw seeds (sunflower, sesame, chia, etc.) often contain phytic acid, which can interfere with the absorption of minerals
Many dairy products are impossible for some people to digest

Some people lack the enzyme to digest lactose, a natural sugar in dairy products
However, even if you're lactose-intolerant, you might do OK with yogurts and aged cheeses. That's because the bacteria in these products feed off of the sugars and do the digesting for you.
The skin of bell peppers is hard to break down.

Bell peppers add vibrant color and sweet flavor to any chicken, beef, or veggie stir-fry. However, since the outer skin is very tough and fibrous, it can be hard for the body to break down fully, especially if eaten raw.
As a result, remnants can end up in the stool, it can also cause stomach pain or gas for some people. But if you still want to enjoy peppers at meal time, remove the skin before eating.
Our bodies can't fully break down corn.

This is because corn contains cellulose and we don't have the enzyme necessary to break it down fully during digestion
none of the above are my original ideas..

all known facts easily sourced from the search results for "vegetables digestion in human beings"

Thanks for attending my TedTalk
p.s.

as for the "aggression"

has anyone ever been lynch3d for eating plants?

I rest my case 🙏

Russell's teapot is an analogy, formulated by the philosopher Bertrand Russell (1872–1970), to illustrate that the philosophic burden of proof lies upon a person making empirically unfalsifiable claims, rather than shifting the burden of disproof to others.
He wrote that if he were to assert, without offering proof, that a teapot, too small to be seen by telescopes, orbits the Sun somewhere in space between the Earth and Mars, he could not expect anyone to believe him solely because his assertion could not be proven wrong.
Now while, Russell specifically applied his analogy in the context of religion we could just as easily extrapolate this to pseudo scientific claims.

After seeing so much "outrage" among fellow doctors about this issue, I was wondering what the division percentages were. 🤔
so out of 100 seats
60 are "reserved"
40 are for open category

seems fair for everybody in my view

so what's the problem?

why don't you ask for more colleges to be opened?

why change the ratio?
I don't see the people who avail reservation seats asking for a bigger share

i do see however is open category "unreserved" folks asking for a bigger share

empathy and humanity... what is that?

Some people are on social media just to get a few likes/shares/retweets etc

They will give up their integrity and dignity to say the most vile things

All in the aim of getting the online attention they so desperately crave to substitute their pathetic offline lives
For the rest of us who have a lot IRL social media is just an "escape"

A means to take a break maybe connect with some "online buddies"

None of this online stuff should ever be taken seriously. This isn't real life. Real life is out there. Just look above your screen
I find it fascinating how some people are so disgusted with their own lives that it seems their only distraction is to try and spread hate to others online. And it frustrates them even more that if you disengage from their antics. Treat them kindly and it enrages them.

Unfortunate remnant of our British past
In UK even today the ED is called "Casualty"
The term Casualty in India has negative connotations
As we have been trained with American based books and protocols we are more used to the term Emergency Medicine Department or ED
In India historically and in many places to date "Casualty" was staffed by junior inexperienced freshly graduated MBBS doctors who were poorly trained in emergency situations. They were employed with minimal pay and for these doctors it was a chance to gain soke experience.
Now that emergency medicine has become a recognised specialty in India we need to educate the general public of the change and that ED docs are now well trained to handle all emergency cases. Unfortunately this is still a growing specialty. And the awareness is only spreading.

"There are 3 kinds of truths in our world today.
1. Objective truth
2. Personal truth
3. Political truth "

Neil deGrasse Tyson

1. Objective truth
This is what is proved by science. Whether you believe it or not it is scientific fact. It has faced numerous testing, experiments & has been proved to be true by multiple people across the world using different methods & materials yet coming to same result.
Government policies should ONLY be made as per objective truths. No place for pseudoscientific mumbo jumbo. We go where the science takes us. Where the evidence takes us.

Rapid sequence intubation (RSI) is an airway management technique that produces inducing immediate unresponsiveness (induction agent) and muscular relaxation (neuromuscular blocking agent) & is the fastest & most effective means of controlling the emergency airway.
RSI is particularly useful in the patient with an intact gag reflex, a “full” stomach, and a life threatening injury or illness requiring immediate airway control

Some people also call this as "Drug assisted Intubation"
‘modified’ RSI is a term sometimes used to describe variations on the ‘classic’ RSI approach (e.g. ventilation during apnea, titration of induction agents);
