"The big risk for the Conservatives, which they appear blissfully unaware of, is that by attacking the devolution settlement and traducing the promises made to Scotland in 2014 in an effort to secure a No vote,"
"...they are weakening even further an already fatally damaged set of arguments which the Better Together campaign deployed in that year's referendum."
"Following their British nationalist and xenophobic Brexit, the Conservatives have rendered totally implausible the argument that a No vote is a vote against nationalism."
"Neither can they argue that independence is parochial and inward looking – that would be the UK. It's now independence which represents stronger and deeper ties with Europe and the rest of the world."

The #ToxicTories☠️ juggling act aka #TorySleaze, makes one wonder how ANY of them have time for the DAY JOB!

#ScottishIndependence 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 can lighten the load by transferring total powers and control over Scotland to @scotgov - trusted and elected by Scots for a fairer Future!
"The deputy first minister told the online audience: “The next referendum on Scottish independence will not be a choice between the status quo and a constitutional unknown."
“There will be no status quo any more – we are in the middle of a dramatic restructuring of our democracy and our economy, whether we like it or not."
“Instead it will be between two competing visions of our future – one of an independent new nation in Europe where the people of Scotland have control over their futures and where their decisions count,"
"...and one of a dependent Scotland in a diminished United Kingdom where the people of Scotland’s choices can be ignored and overturned if they don’t suit the priorities of a government they didn’t vote for.”"

"Legislation to create a post-Brexit single market across England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland shows equal contempt for UK's constitutional settlement. By asserting unassailable English supremacy, the prime minister is inviting Scotland to leave the union."

YES, PLEASE!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
"There is a burgeoning school of thought, in Whitehall and Westminster as well as Edinburgh, that says Brexit has made Scottish independence inevitable."
"The sweep of history, the story runs, will conclude that the matter was settled as soon as England voted to leave the EU and Scotland to remain. The frayed bonds of the union were cut beyond repair."
"The Anglo-Scottish union of 1707 was a contingent agreement. Mr Johnson’s remark this year that there is “no such thing” as a border between the two nations was a measure of indifference as well as ignorance."
"Scotland did NOT give up its border OR its nationhood — NOR its distinct legal AND educational systems."
"The union was about collaboration abroad. Scotland secured access to the EMERGING British empire, and England to talented entrepreneurs, engineers and administrators. With empire long gone, Brexit has put an end to any notion of a joint enterprise beyond British shores."
"Instead, Scotland is presented with a choice: if it sticks with England, it cuts itself off from Europe. The referendum vote to leave the EU was bad enough."
"The threat to defy international law on the way to a no-deal Brexit risks leaving Scotland isolated on the edge of its own continent."

"England and Scotland have both been enriched by their partnership."
"History is written by human agency. Brexit, such a government would continue, can be the occasion for a new settlement between the four constituent parts of the union. Power reclaimed from Brussels will be distributed to every corner of the UK."
"Mr Johnson has taken the opposite course. Publicly he declares himself a unionist; privately, Whitehall officials report, he is heard to scorn Scotland as “too leftwing” — spending money raised from English taxpayers on lavish welfare."
In stark contrast, England stops UC uplift & @MarcusRashford is rightly decorated for speaking up against unfair & discriminatory refusal of UK Government to ensure children were adequately fed during school closures due to COVID19 pandemic and in so doing, shamed UK Government.
"The prejudice is reflected in the legislation now before parliament to create a UK single market."

The glaring omission is that EU member states are EQUALS and share the decision making that affects the lives of all citizens throughout all member states.
"Beyond the controversial clauses that would renege on provisions in the withdrawal agreement to keep an open border in Ireland, the essential purpose of the new law is to tighten England’s grip over the rest of the UK."

Were "the people" asked if they consented to this?
"Decisions over food and environment norms, labour law and industrial standards hitherto shared with Brussels will belong solely to Westminster."
"Powers over health and education held by the Scottish and Welsh parliaments and Northern Ireland assembly will be diluted. Westminster will decide whether to scrap the animal husbandry rules that presently bar imports of American chlorinated chicken."
"United Kingdom

Coronavirus Cases:
9,675,058
Deaths:
143,360
Recovered:
7,943,987"

R.I.P. 🪦

Hardly an exemplar on health matters and yet, UK Government has to be dragged, kicking and screaming, to facilitate a public inquiry into the mishandling of COVID19 pandemic in UK.
"In truth, the legislation — as bluntly condemned by a pro-union government in Wales as by Ms Sturgeon — is a gift to Scottish nationalism, proof that centrist Scotland is now a prisoner of rightwing English Conservativism."

Wot are we waiting for!?!

@RobboCam73 "The UK is at the helm of a global network of tax abuse by multinational corporations and wealthy individuals, which costs the world $483bn a year and hits low-income countries the hardest."
@RobboCam73 "The latest report by the Tax Justice Network found that the UK leads the OECD in its contribution to global tax loss, inflicting $68.2bn of annual tax loss on other countries, 14 per cent of the global total."

"BORIS Johnson has “basically admitted” that his proposals to reform Westminster standards would not have prevented even one of the sleaze scandals which have engulfed the Tory government, the SNP have said."

So, why waste time with theatrics...if not, to cover-up other deeds!
"After taking a jab at the 👉“missing £600,000 in the SNP party accounts”👈, the Prime Minister claimed that the opposition’s “constant attacks” on corruption in his government did a disservice to the people around the world suffering under true corruption."

⚠️Disinformation! ⚠️
"MICHAEL Russell has said £600,000 raised for a SNP second independence campaign is "not missing" and that the money is still available for this purpose."

@theSNP @Feorlean have repeatedly replied to false criticisms relating to £600,000 raised for #IndyRef2 - waiting patiently!

"How did South Korea escape the pandemic relatively unaffected economically, with deaths at such low levels, while now vaccinating at such a high level that it has protected itself from future waves of illness and harsh lockdowns?"
"That’s the question we should all be asking, and a clear vindication of the “zero Covid” approach as the optimal short-term strategy."
"Mistakes have clearly been made in both the UK and US – in particular, a cynical fatalism that no scientific solution would emerge, that mass infection was inevitable and that there was little to be learned from other parts of the world."

Scots are known for their dogged determination; often compared with the legend of Robert the Bruce, King Robert I, King of Scotland, and the spider! 🕷️🕸️

If at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again!
Alas, it seems that history repeats itself and what was once fought for and won, must again be striven for and won - in the name and honour of Scotland's ancestors.
And so, Scotland and its' peoples must once again strive to regain their rightful place within Europe.

"Johnson’s brief time as foreign secretary was not regarded as a success. Indeed, we have little proof that he has a clear idea of what he thinks UK foreign policy should be, other than to leave the European Union, which he has achieved."
"The pandemic has understandably occupied much government bandwidth, yet without it we would still be shackled with a Cabinet unable or unwilling to speak truth to power."
"There is a broader cost to this malaise, and to Raab’s dereliction of duty in reportedly not making the call to try and save the lives of Afghan interpreters who have assisted British troops."

@Andrew_Adonis Regrettably, essential truck drivers needed for transport of food and supplies to UK have heeded the message of hate and rejection, not to mention the endless Brexit red-tape!

Who can blame them?!?

I can't help wondering what #LiarJohnson and UK Government can be thinking!?!
@Andrew_Adonis Jus' wait 'ere a cotton pickin' minute!
@Andrew_Adonis If there aint no food supplies bein' delivered...does this mean there's no food for pickin' and packin'...or does it mean there are no pickers doin' the pickin' and no packers doin' the packin'...
