First Minister @NicolaSturgeon at #FMQs: "We will continue to ensure that our justice system does protect people from criminals, that it does ensure that vicitims get the justice they deserve. But also the principles of rehabilitation is at its heart."

FM: "On the issue of automatic early release, my government didn't introduce those measures but we did legislate to bring an end to them. It is important that we have a justice system that punishes those that have to be punished, but also promotes rehabilitation." #FMQs

FM: "Rates of crime, and I appreciate for any victim of crime this is no comfort at all, but rates of crime are at their lowest level in many years in Scotland." #FMQs

FM: "We should all be on the side of victims of crime, but we should also be on the side of trying to make Scotland safer. And that does mean, trying to make sure we have a justice that punishes but also reduces the chances of reoffending." #FMQs

FM: "I will always read and listen to the words of relatives of those that have died or recieved substandard care in our NHS, because that is my duty.

But I have also done so because Andrew was someone I knew well and was a valued member of the Scot Gov team." #FMQs

FM: "I will not, and this government will not, tolerate cover-ups or secrecy by any health board and where there are concerns of that, it will be addressed." #FMQs

FM: "During COP, one of the things we confirmed was the introduction of free bus travel for all those under 22. We need to go further, but making sure public transport is more avalible both in affordability and in ease of use, is a priority for this government." #FMQs

FM: "Vaccination is the best line of defence against this virus, so I encourage anybody who is not yet vaccinated with either their first, second or booster - please get vaccinated because you're protecting yourself and others." #FMQs

FM: "On the issue of transition from oil and gas, which the science says is essential, the transition must be a just one. It must not put workers into unemployment or increase reliance on imports.

Our obligation to the planet is to invest in renewables." #FMQs

FM: "This Scottish Government is investing in a just transition but that would be easier if the UK Tory government hadn't turned it's back on the North East, carbon capture and storage, the Acorn Cluster and project." #FMQs

FM: "The lasting impact of COP will be a positive one. We can all feel pride at the leadership the people of Scotland, and Glasgow, have shown during COP.

While the outcome did not go as far as many of us would have liked, it will accelerate our journey to net zero." #FMQs

FM: "From January next year, everyone under 22 will have access to free bus travel. It is not the end of the journey to better public transport but it is a significant step forward." #FMQs

FM: "I want to commend the work of frontline advocacy services. They've worked tirelessly to ensure that people, including those experiencing domestic abuse, have been able to access support throughout the pandemic." #FMQs

FM: "Over the past 18 months, we've invested an additional £10m to allow the rapid redesign of services and help address the backlog." #FMQs

FM: "It is important for all of us to say how utterly abhorent domestic violence is, it should never be toleranted.

If anyone is in need of help, either from the police or a support agency, they should not hesitate to seek it." #FMQs
