@trishgreenhalgh pointed out they had removed their mask mandate.

In an interesting natural experiment, back on April 6th, 2020, mask mandates dropped

I never want to hear about valveless respirators again.

Despite having 624 valved respirators recommended for HCW's on their website.

N95 Manufacturer Capacity can absolutely be expanded to meet demand - this is a great point by Dr. Leonardi.

A short 🧵.
We have 330 million Americans.

How in the world could we meet that demand?

Easy.

One manufacturer alone could get us 3 N95's/ month to start


30 N95's month 5 to 6 months after that.
There are at least 19 companies that could (have) joined in that effort.

This will be a very unpopular tweet, but my tough love has to go both ways.

What if the Democrats in charge, @benwakana46 @JeffreyZients @RonaldKlain have not shipped N100 masks to every man, woman, and child, because of a similar political calculation?

Think about it.
✅ Every single dead Republican is one less vote.
✅ Every single Republican with LongCoVid is effectively sidelined due to having to use every ounce of energy to live.
✅ Every single Republican with LongCoVid becomes an advocate for Public Health.
✅ A LOT of family members
of the dead Republicans will then be more apt to support public health measures.
✅ Democrats will be protecting themselves via masks,etc, anyway.

I simply see no other reason why a 6 billion dollar (so cheap ) intervention has not been deployed.

This will be a seminal work, cited thousands of times.

Why? Because it tells the history that will be attempted to be rewritten by governments after the pandemic is over.

They will do so because airborne diseases seem to be more of the commons - which lies on governments to
regulate and do something about. For example, the EPA.

@jljcolorado has a great quote on this.

The corollary being that droplet-based infection prevention is the responsibility of the individual.

Personally, I feel this is letting governments off too easy.

Both should be Image
the responsibility of the government as pandemics are inherently the disease of a society.

Like a tree falling in a forest...

In that, medical masks for HCWs plus 1 meter distancing recommended.

Airborne only in
the context of AGP's.

This is very common - countries refer to WHO's stance which is medical masks and 1 meter.

Also which was shown in the common person documents and video you listed out, and I RT'd.

And airborne was not listed anywhere in those documents.
Now, let's take a look at the WHO TB IPC document.
