The last time you read an interesting sales copy that compelled you to buy something...
Was it easy for you to get through the whole copy?
Was it just a long block of text that goes on and on?
“Arrghhh… Boring!”
Or wait….
Did you spot some bullet points?
If you saw bullets, you probably stopped to read through them.
Even if you were skimming before.
You wanted to see what was highlighted…
And if it will be important to you.
The regular advice you get from copywriters is to go through old ads that worked.
So, you head over to swiped.co to start studying ads.
That's good…
But, many of these ads don't have bullets…
So, when you finally decide to start writing sales copy...
You end up with weak bullet points…
And wonder why people open your copy but never click on the link to buy.
They scroll to the end of the page...
Spending only 30 seconds to see if anything holds their attention.
Then they leave.
You need to create well-structured bullet points
If you write your bullets well,
You see an increase in:
- Time spent on page.
- Conversions.
Here's the primary formula I follow for writing compelling bullets:
Interest= Benefit + Curiosity
Example 1:
How to make $500,000 in 16 weeks - without hustling online for 8 hours every day! US billionaire, Freddie Mercury reveals how he accumulated $25 billion online in 6 years. You only need one of these 6 strategies to make $1 million in 7 months.
The ‘benefit’ in this example is that you don't have to spend much time working.
What piques your curiosity is “the 6 ways he made his money.”
In your head, you think “One of these strategies can make me $1 million this year. What happens when I get all 6? 🤑”
Example 2:
SHOCKER! You don't need to comment on 60 tweets daily to hit 1k followers. On page 7 of this special report, Twitter newbies George and Jake show how they gathered 15,000 fans in 90 days spending less than 2 hours on Twitter daily.
The first sentence gets them interested in the bullet.
They go “Woowww! So, I've been wasting my time…”
The second sentence shows the benefit.
Now, they're curious to see how they can cut the time they spend on Twitter and get even better results.
Although this formula is great for writing compelling bullet points, you may get stuck.
Your creative well may run dry…
And your blood will start to boil.
If you'd like to finish the copy that same day...
What do you do?
