Every startup must invest in copywriting.

Write great marketing copy and you can raise $50M in funding.

Here are copywriting tips from 7 fast-growing Saas startups in 2021

To sharpen your landing page copy 👇
1. Orders.co - Focus on the benefits

Orders.co helps restaurants offer their food on as many online platforms as they wish from one app.

On the landing page

They jump right into what they achieve for the customers with 4 benefit-driven subheadings.
When building your landing page

Beware of fluff.

Your competitors may build landing pages that go on and on…

Talking about things the readers don't care about.

Don’t do that.
- Focus on the main idea and purpose for the page.

- Highlight the benefits.

- Talk about the features.

- Show how it works.

- Let the audience see how your service makes their day better.
Your copy doesn't have to be short.

It just has to be as long as necessary to communicate the message to your prospect.

Nothing more. Nothing less.
2. ClickUp - Use different types of social proof.

When you hear about social proof...

What you think of is usually “client testimonials”...

And how you put the images beside them to increase credibility.

But, that's not all social proof is about.
ClickUp is a free app with over 1,000 integrations for running a business

ClickUp closed $100M in funding and reached a $1B valuation in December 2020

The landing page doesn't have testimonials from business owners.

It only shows the number of reviews and number of teams on it
Add as many forms of social proof as you have to your copy.

It doesn't have to be “only” human testimonials.

Use:

- Case studies

- Trust icons

- Data/Numbers

- Social media reviews

- Testimonials
3. Code Signal - Add an FAQ section

Code Signal helps companies like Uber, Zoom, and Facebook among others to hire brilliant, qualified programmers for their business.

Just a few days ago, Code Signal secured $50M in Series C funding.

Now, let’s run to their landing page.
Code Signal’s page shows features, benefits, and testimonials.

But what ends the page is the FAQ.

An FAQ section allows you to answer all the remaining questions the readers may have about your service.
How do you know these questions before publishing the page?

By doing market research before writing.

And by answering these:

- What questions do the competitors answer?

- What areas might be unclear to the readers?
4. Virtually - Don't rely on text alone

Your landing page could contain as much text as you want

But, using only texts is not visually appealing

Virtually allows you to teach Zoom classes and get paid

Each block of text on the Virtually page is accompanied by an image.

Why?
Images, gifs, or videos showing your dashboard

Allow people to see what you offer and if they'll like it.

Show them mockups of every important page in your product…

Accompany these images with solid copy explaining the features and benefits

And let them make their decision.
5. OpenSea - Engage with the customers

Having social media presence is a big plus.

Most of us on this side of Twitter already know OpenSea (@opensea)

That's where we buy our NFTs.

Now imagine they didn't engage on social media…

We may not know about them today.
Keep your landing page copy interactive...

And also use social media copy to communicate with your audience.

As people engage on social media...

More people head to your social media page...

Then to your landing page...

Before buying into your offer.
6. Yac - Embed videos on top

Yac helps businesses and teams cut time spent in meetings...

(It's anti-Zoom!!)

When you get on the website…

The first thing you see is a text animation…

Then a short video that explains the offer.
Putting videos on your landing page could drive >50% more conversions.

All you need to do is write the copy for the video…

Create the video (or hire someone to)...

And embed it on top of your landing page.

Before continuing with the rest of the copy. 😀
7. Rightbound - Use a clear CTA

Rightbound didn't feel like the perfect example to use here…

But it also did.

When you first open Rightbound…

You notice the main CTA at the bottom of the page.
It looks like there are no links to other pages on the landing page…

So you're not distracted and start clicking everything in the menu.

But Rightbound has multiple CTAs on the screen.

They're just in color white.

So you don't notice them.

(Look on top of the picture)
If you can't remove the main menu on your landing page for whatever reason…

Change the color to blend with the background…

So it doesn't distract your readers from what you want them to do…

Before I wrap it up…

A few more points for you…

- Focus on how you solve the audience’s problems.

- Don't be rigid. Write like a human. Keep it interesting.

- Use both features and benefits. Don't ignore one for the other.
And if you just don't know how to write...

9 Solid marketing lessons from the best marketers of all time 👇
1. David Ogilvy - Cleverness doesn't sell products

Many marketers try to be creative and original without asking themselves…

“Can I sell what I'm trying to create? Do people want it?”

You must connect with your audience...

Build trust...

And make sure your offer will sell.
2. Dale Carnegie - Master the art of conversation

“To be interesting, be interested.”

You never understand what the audience wants because you fail to listen...

You fail to start a conversation with your people in your target market.

And this ruins their connection with you.

Airbnb grew from 0 to $92B in 13 years.

In just over a decade, it now competes with traditional hotel businesses internationally

Their marketing strategy plays a great role towards this success

Here’s how they went about it and how you can use their strategy for your business:
1. Airbnb didn’t brand themselves as “cheap hotels.”

They positioned themselves as a company that enriches your vacation experience by making you live like locals.

You feel at home.
While affordability may be one of your selling points, it shouldn’t be your main one.

Don’t fight with your competitors for pricing.

Look for the vacant spot in your market and fill it.

Then make your unique selling proposition known in all aspects of your campaign.
