This is a blatant, irresponsible, divisive & misleading lie: Peston & @ITV should apologise.

Asked "Which of the following do you think are the most important issues facing the country at this time?" From the list below, just 22% said 'immigration & asylum', compared to: health, 49%; economy, 43%; environment, 40%; Britain leaving the EU, 27%.

It's very disappointing that @ITV are fobbing off concerned viewers with a lame & insulting excuse, & flat denying @Peston's divisive, irresponsible & blatant lie. I'll continue to criticise his lie & @ITV's ill-informed response, & will press @Ofcom, until an apology is secured.

#Peston has form: if he actually believed what he was told by MPs - that migration was voters' most important issue - I have a bridge to sell him.
