Ctd 3) Also the second variant of interest from Botswana is another one growing ,that means India should immediately stop flights from Africa and also again look at the travel hubs that have flights coming from Africa eg Dubai@HardeepSPuri,@JM_Scindia

Long thread 1) There is this fear about the new Botswana/ Nu/ B1.1.159 variant but let's delve into why is this fear?? The 4 cases they found in Botswana were all vaccinated.So what??Breakthrough happens all the time,we underestimate incidence @hjelle_brian ctd) Image
Ctd2) This variant marked in blue is coming up , so what?? These variants will come and go. Ist it was the Wuhan strain in Grey , then the Beta ( SA strain in Green , then the Delta in Red and now may be the Botswana variant in Blue ( B1.1.529) @MoHFW_INDIA, @mansukhmandviya ctd) Image
Ctd3) For the virus and also the vaccines ( Pfizer/ Moderna/ AZ) the spike protein is the most important and that is where the maximum risk is . The Delta had 2 changes in spike proteins Receptor Binding Domain, the Beta had 3 while the Nu has 10 , so there is a real risk ctd)

Long thread -As a Surgeon I am painfully aware how difficult it is for a surgeon to work with a new anesthesist,or to work with new assistants/get work done in a new set up or with new nurses,there is a critical element of camaraderie, the team works like an oiled machine ctd)
Ctd2) A gentle grunt here , a small nudge there , you extend your hand and the instrument is in ur hand these arent luxuries, they put the mind of everyone at ease and causes better results in CRUX situations. HOWEVER the pandemic has disrupted these synergies@HalfwayKnown ctd)
Ctd3) Nurses are leaving , doctors & nurses are falling sick, some dying and others suffering from Long Covid. You just cannot simply replace a team member and expect them to perform, it takes time for them to settle in @DustyEnfermera,@NursesOntario ,@NursesWhoVax ,@NurseTexas

Long post ) It has been my sudden realization that even though we knew all along since last 1.5 yr plus that airplanes are the biggest source of transfer of new variants @JimRosenthal4 , @kprather88 but instead of doing more about trying to prevent in flight infection we ctd)
@JimRosenthal4 @kprather88 Ctd2) we continued our apathy towards the same . Masking is important BUT as I have always maintained it has to be N95 masks in flight , we know that for every person infected there is a chance to infect occupants until 2 rows before and behind, worser this is pre Delta info ctd)
Ctd3) The same hasn't been updated , the Canadians at least did make an effort to try finding this out but haven't seen anything since last 6 months .Also we need to lay down the rules of inflight contamination levels @DrAxelrod_WHO ,@WHO ,@WHOEMRO ,@WHOSEARO ,@DrRabiWHO ctd)

Ctd2) clearly from the paper 15 kids were lost to flu when we introduced Flu vaccines in kids across UK.And how many do we have now , over a hundred have already been lost forever, a hundred families will stay up on Christmas eve and mourn, Santa will not visit those homes ctd)
Ctd3) This year flu shots have been expanded across UK . Why ?? 1) Govt wants to reduce flu levels in population BUT doesnt want to reduce Covid cases ?? 2) Vaccines against flu save kids and society both Ain't the same be said about Covid Vaccines .@TigressEllie, @Tall_Paul_05
