@angie_rasmussen THANK YOU for saying this. We are already looking into it and what I have tried to express to everyone is a higher number of mutations does not immediately need to cause the need for red alarms.
@angie_rasmussen The other thing to note is that we are looking at an area with a very low vaccination rate (35% to be exact). This does not reflect what we may see in an area of higher vaccination. We need more data and information and less panicking and assumptions.
@angie_rasmussen What can I possibly tell people right now except to get vaccinated. If you don’t want to worry about variants, make sure you are protected. That is our best line of defense right now. NO ONE fully knows how the vaccines will do with this but what I do know from working on them-
@angie_rasmussen is that it is going to take a lot to fully evade these and again, looking at an area of low vaccination and this variant is not a reflection of an area of high vaccination and this variant.
