9 y.o. Joey Pellegrini from Fremont #NewHampshire contracted mild COVID in early October, but two weeks later became severely ill from multi-system inflammatory syndrome. He had a high fever, abdominal pain and very low blood pressure. #TheySurvivedCovid today.com/health/mom-sha…
During his time in the hospital, Joey received his MIS-C diagnosis and was treated with IV immune globulin, steroids & medications to increase his blood pressure. Doctors performed echocardiograms and constantly monitored Joey's heart rate.
"I was completely unaware of this MIS-C. I had no idea to even look for symptoms," Pellegrini said. "If I had any knowledge of this, I would have brought him in at the first signs of the stomach bug."
After seeing her son deal with MIS-C, Jane is urging parents to follow mask and vaccine recommendations, and to keep an eye out for the potential symptoms — fever, stomach pain, vomiting, bloodshot eyes, skin rash and dizziness. people.com/health/healthy…

"I ended up catching covid-19 around the Fourth of July," said McDaniel, who tested positive after going to Urgent Care.

McDaniel said he tried to beat covid at home, but his slight headaches got worse, and then he started to experience shortness of breath.
"When I first got to JRMC they had me on straight oxygen," said McDaniel. "Later on I was put on the ventilator for a while."

When he tested positive for Covid he showed no symptoms, and was quickly "back to his usual self".

But a few weeks later, he developed a lump on his neck (lymphadenopathy) & rashes on his body.

4 days later while watching TV, he complained to his mum that his vision was blurry.
At the hospital, Cameron deteriorated quickly and his heart began to fail.

Medics placed him in an induced coma and he was flown from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

"They were trying to get IV lines in & he's scared and he's sick and ... across the unit we could hear him screaming for us," said Cody. "Every time we checked back into the room his condition was getting worse. They had to sedate him because he was so uncomfortable and so sick"
When initially informed of the MIS-C diagnosis, after an antibody test revealed a positive result for COVID, Porter's parents had been shocked — and stumped.

John Mari was a doctor of optometry and operated 20/20 Vision Express in Fargo.

Justo Mari, a native of the Philippines who was a physician and surgeon in North Dakota and Minnesota, retired nearly 30 years ago.
"Both John and wife Lynne came down with COVID, but her symptoms were worse than his, she said.

She, though, had been fully vaccinated against COVID. He had not, citing a lifelong fear of needles and doctors’ offices. Family members tried unsuccessfully to convince him"

Weeks after thinking Caden was over the virus, he developed a high fever. Then, Caden's mother, Sarah Veysey, noticed a rash.

"On September 28, she woke up that morning with an upset stomach. Just a tummy ache," Andrea said.

That stomachache would progress to a 103-degree fever, rash and sore throat. A strep throat test came back negative.
"When we took her vitals is when we realized that we actually had a bigger problem," said Andrea. "Her blood pressure was critically low."

A blood test found she had the antibodies for COVID, which doctors believe she had contracted six weeks prior. They diagnosed her with MIS-C
