An addendum on that based on my French covid-ridden village
The transmission hub is the school
After a closed class for a week returned on Friday, today we were told a new case has been spotted,.
The rules have changed.
(Wait for it)

Now a positive test in the class means all the kids have to get tested before to come back.
So my 5 year old will be tested tomorrow morning to get back to class in the afternoon if he’s negative.
But
Positive case was spotted today.
So he was probably infectious Tuesday.

That means that tomorrow my kid - alone with all the kids in his class- can test negative because it’s too soon
But develop the infection and spread it among the other kids.
(5 year old don’t wear masks).
Also a new case can be spotted tomorrow.

What this means is it’s a recipe for Covid spread, to appease the people struggling with isolation rule.
“Drip by drip infection”
I seriously wonder if the point us to infect everyone before Xmas - but in turn.

A 2/3 weeks lockdown starting 1/2 weeks ago would have been
- actually more manageable than drip by drip isolation, especially for families with more than 1 child
- *efficient*
I probably wasn’t politically sellable, but what we’re doing now is just epidemiological nonsense
