Difference between options and choice. Options are choices that don’t have real consequences. If you want to watch TV, Netflix or Hotstar or Prime? If you want to eat, Italian or Indian or Chinese? And do u cook, or order in or go to a restaurant? These are all options
But choices, even small choices are the decisions that matter. Do I sleep at a reasonable hour or do I binge watch? Do I drink a peg which will eventually lead to another and give me a wicked hangover that will keep me from being productive until noon next day or drink water?
Do I spend time with my kids or do I spend time on social media for some more time? You know the correct answers to all these questions. Everyone does. That doesn’t mean they are easy to answer correctly in the moment.
If you care about results, however, there are relatively few paths that will lead where you want to go, and the sooner you understand that, the sooner you will be on that path. Are you willing to make the sacrifices needed to be successful in your life?

I notice that all the Entrepreneur friends &family around me have an attitude that business comes first. It trumps everything else family, friends &even health.I have done it myself. Have sacrificed all these things for my business. The whole focus was on making business successful
I was lucky. Mrs stuck by me. Despite my giving very little time to the kids they still find me their role model. I didn’t loose friends but hardly fulfilled my role as a good friend.
My entrepreneur journey was not all about money. After some point money becomes irrelevant. It becomes mere numbers after some stage. The drive at that time is to build something great. Endorphins ran as I got out of discussions and meetings. That made me brush other things aside.
There is an often-told story that when Albert Einstein was once asked what mankind's greatest invention was, he replied: "Compound interest." He didn't respond any of the usual answers, such as wheel or printing press or theory of relativity.
Compounding - the idea that something gaining value exponentially into the future through better decisions made in the present - is one of the greatest lessons any human being can ever learn.
This applies to your health and longevity also. Small tiny habits done regularly. If you want to live longer and live better, you need a clear and basic understanding that the outcome of your journey is the sum of its steps.
Last night I was debilitated by anxiety. Woke up at 1:30 and couldn’t sleep for almost one hour with all bad thoughts going through mind. Everything around me is perfect honestly but the fear of losing this is what anxiety is. I was worried if I have a product failure, a
customer going bankrupt and all the rubbish things. I know many amongst us go through these thoughts. So decoding anxiety and how to cope with it
Anxiety is simply living in future state worrying about something that has not actually happened. Basically rehearsing failure. We need to break this cycle. It does not serve us. The best way to break it is to replace the thought. Repeating positive affirmations.
We should build a community where health is top priority. If you are not healthy you are going to struggle whole your life. Medical science is good at curing diseases eg pneumonia - few pills and its sorted.
Medical science can honestly not do much about lifestyle diseases like Type 2 diabetes or Alzheimers. It can at best try to make your pain less. But if we care for ourselves everyday, we may not have these diseases.
When we talk of living a meaningful life, good health is an ingredient of that. Our relationships, stress, lifestyle are major contributor to our health. Medical science is downstream work. Honestly speaking you have more control on your health than you think of.
I see younger version of me in one of my mentee. Maybe working 100 hours a week, available 24 X 7 to his work. Being workaholic is celebrated in our society. Another mentee I advised to delete all mail apps on phone for better focused work and he was shocked.
Addiction to work has same effect on the brain like say cocaine or any other drug. I was in the same rat hole. And as with drugs a big crash is round the corner. I had written a blog on this few years back sandeepmall.com/why-exercising…
When I wanted to change my work schedule to spend more time with family or myself & would say that to customers. they would get offended and think that I don't care for their business anymore. I eventually resorted to saying, I have other engagements, which met little resistance
How to get back in shape - at any age. More so if you are 40+
Most of us will hit the gym or try to start eating healthy. In most cases, this will come to an abrupt end after 2 or 3 weeks, when you get tired of eating salad, and you’re so sore you can hardly move.
Step 1 - Get your mindset right. Essentially, you need to ask yourself an important question, which is “Why?”.If your answer is a flimsy one, like “Because I want to look good”, it will only keep you going for so long. Make a mission statement. Write it down. Pin it.
Firstly, think about what your current habits towards healthy eating &exercise are costing you. Think about the emotional, physical cost & the time cost. Then, visualize and imagine what the benefits will be if you change your habits and achieve your goals. Add these to your mission
