On this #HumanRightsDay, I am exposing #AbleistAIIMS, their highly ableist culture & shocking plagiarised report. The genesis is my RTI exposing how AIIMS deliberately denied #DocsWithDisabilities postgrad seats in AIIMS for the last eight exams whereas JIPMER, PGI embraced. 1/
Dr Sanjay Wadhwa (PMR) & his same team of controversial non-disabled members framed guidelines for #DocsWithDisabilities in PG at AIIMS, Delhi. I wonder if this is the most ableist document ever published in the history of #MedEd in India? #AbleistAIIMS aiimsexams.ac.in/pdf/Final_PWBD… 2/
Wadhwa Committee’s terribly framed report w/ ableist language self-proclaims, “What is proposed by Experts here is quite unique, perhaps revolutionary, w/ far-reaching consequences.” Yes, 30% of this report is plagiarised w/ negative portion carefully chosen to blame disabled 3/
Sample this,“Medical subjects in general are NOT in Braille or Audio-Books forms… One must accept the fact that ‘everyone cannot do everything’. Wadhwa Committee has heavily plagiarised from @GMCUK’s #WelcomedAndValued report supporting disabled learners in #MedEd & practice 4/
They used the @gmcuk's #WelcomedAndValued selectively to suit their agenda omitting critical legal mandate also in our #RPDA2016. They also used selectively an old US case limiting disabled docs suitable only in 20/37 specialties. Not a single Disabled Doc in this Committee 5/
They selectively plagiarised an article by highlighting only the barriers to justify their decision to bar disabled docs. The article hails inclusion, & I’am quoted, “When people see #DocsWithDisabilities excelling, the biases/prejudices prevalent in society will disappear” 6/
Wadhwa Report selectively quoted a court case but has no clue about the landmark judgment by Justice DYC on #ReasonableAccommodation which counters their member Dr Radhika Tandon’s ableist viewpoints. These same people framed @NMC_IND guidelines barring disabled candidates. 7/
In a case in SC, the counsel contended that "Dr Sanjay Wadhwa, AIIMS expert, while holding that persons with disabilities are not eligible to pursue #MedEd has given 'contrary opinions' on the same issue and that too not once but THRICE'. #AbleistAIIMS 8/ deccanherald.com/national/sc-se…
My ♿️-user colleague & other friends booked wheelchair-accessible seats shown online as C9,C10 on @bookmyshow vide ID:WLDGLQ6 for 2:05 pm PVR, EDM, GZB show on 25.5.22. When they reached @PicturesPVR , staff proclaimed we are ♿️ accessible. 2/ #PatheticPVR
This is what they offered on the name of ♿️ accessible seat - a regular one. When asked how she will reach there? They offered a makeshift ramp & said with pride, ‘we will lift’. She refused, & had to watch the film in front row, away from her friends. 3/ #PatheticPVR@LivePvr
2018: Applicants with #dyslexia NOT allowed to join MBBS (NMC)
2018: Mumbai HC DENIED admission; Delhi HC allowed admission
2019: NMC: Dyslexia ≥ 40% & ≤ 80% disability allowed #NEETUG2022: Only those with ‘SEVERE dyslexia’ can avail of disability quota benefit in NEET 1/ 🧵
The brochure states that dyslexic candidates need to submit two forms (Appendix XV & XVI). The certificate must mention ‘SEVERE’ under the Dyslexia category to enable the candidate to get the benefit of the disability quota 2/ #NEETUG2022#Disability
Form-1 also asks for the details of the Dyslexia Association meaning that rather than a medical authority, NGOs will attest. Why UDID then?
Form-2 is a newly introduced Certificate to be produced by Dyslexic Candidate from the Principal of School/College last attended. 3/ #NEET

This is not his first instance. Some call him CA, some life coach and he himself uses 'Dr' prefix. He has claimed to 'treat ' OCD, Bipolar, dyslexia, homosexuality and what not. Links in further tweets in this thread. 1/n
