This is how to buy shares in the Uganda Stock Market.

First, get an account from Uganda's Securities Central Depository.

So, head to this link (scd.use.or.ug) & register. East Africans can register with an ID.

This is the dashboard. It is an easy portal. Register a new account.

You will receive an email to verify your registration.

Head back to the web portal after email verification.

Your dashboard will look like this.

Now, click on 'Create SCD Account'

An SCD account enables you to trade in the Uganda Securities Exchange.

'Create SCD account' will lead you here.

Enter the details as required.

You will capture a photo of your ID (Front and back) and upload your passport photo.

Pick a broker. If you are a Kenyan, I'd advice you to pick Dyer and Blair for easier Mpesa transaction.

All your information will be forwarded to the broker you chose.

Once the broker receives your information, they will verify and immediately forward to Securities Central Depository for approval.

Once SCD approves, you will receive an approval from your broker.

This approval activates your SCD portal where you will access your portfolio.

You can go ahead through the help of your broker to buy and sell shares in the Uganda Stock Market.

So, simple. Right?

Your broker will be sending you these reports to help you follow the activities at the USE.
