Joanna and Chip! Are so perfect! The number of times I listened to this OBC recording — on CD! — long before I truly understand how incredible this all was. 🥺 But, I was learning. And loving it.
I was in high school in Ohio and it was the early ’90s — he has charm for a prince, I guess — and I was just beginning to fall in love with musical theater — a bean can begin an adventure — and Into the Woods was my introduction to Sondheim. It was unlike anything else.

So unbelievably sad. Incredibly privileged to have gotten to see him at Company last Monday. My heart goes out to his family and friends and everyone in the theater community. nytimes.com/2021/11/26/the…
He created so much of my world of musical theater, which has provided me with one of the most comfortable spaces in my life. I am forever grateful to Sondheim for the worlds he has created for us.

The ability of the governor to put this particular sort of condition on the grant of clemency could (and possibly will) be challenged, but courts definitely have allowed certain conditions to be placed on grants of clemency in the past.
