#Kenya's authorities should amend measures requiring everyone seeking government services to be fully vaccinated.

Only about 10% of adults in Kenya are vaccinated.

From the start, the EU has been BLOCKING wider vaccine production globally by obstructing the #TRIPSwaiver, a proposal to temporarily waive some intellectual property rules on vaccines & other health products. This:

⚕️ goes against expert advice, and

☠️ prolongs the pandemic
"Scientists know that this cycle will prolong the pandemic — but world leaders are still failing to choose the fastest path out."

We need the #TRIPSwaiver for a #PeoplesVaccine.

Only 46% of the world is fully vaccinated.

In many countries, it's less than 10%.

BILLIONS of people have not even had one dose yet.

Thread on the #SummitforDemocracy...
We have our doubts about whether the #SummitForDemocracy will produce any real progress on human rights.

Many of the nations invited are human rights abusers, and we don’t yet know what commitments they've made to improve their records.
The Summit will be an abject failure if nations make human rights commitments that are weak or if they make commitments they don’t live up to.

Everyone knows Belarus authorities are inhuman.

And yet, #Poland's policy - supported by the European Commission - is to illegally send people back into #Belarus.
#Belarus manufactured the situation, but #Poland shares responsibility for the suffering. Men, women & children have been ping-ponged across the border for weeks in freezing weather, desperately needing humanitarian aid that's being blocked on BOTH sides.

A longer pandemic only benefits:

💰 The pharma monopolies.

🦠 The virus.

The EU & UK are the top allies of both.

Their policy of blocking wider vaccine production, by opposing the #TRIPSwaiver at the WTO, results in the global vaccine shortage that prolongs the pandemic.
