The 12 ancient winter solstice days - #Thread
21st Dec - 1st Jan
Although it has been linked to pagan rituals, it actually has a Vedic foundation.
We should celebrate the Aditya Festival, the 12 ancient winter solstice days, from 21st December to 1st January, to commemorate the trail of Aditya due to slow shift in the Winter Solstice Day (1 degree shift in the earth's sky every 72 years) due to the precession of the equinox
As mentioned in the quoted Rgvedic verses, the Adityas were originally seven:- Varuna, Mitra, Aryaman, Daksha, Bhaga, Amsha and Savitar. The eighth one is Maarthaanda, the sun-god, also known as Vivasvan, Vivasvat and Surya.
Finally the number of the Adityas was expanded to 12, like found mention in the Bhagavata Purana. The 12 Adityas are then corresponded to the rising son in each of the 12 months.
This celebration of the 12 Adityas in 12 days commencing from the Winter Solstice is called the Aditya Festival. This 12 day Aditya Festival existed throughout the ancient world, including in the Bharatavarsha n in the culturally connected Greek, Germanic, Scandinavian n EU.
In the ancient pre-Christian Scandinavia, the Dec Winter Solstice marked the onset of the Feast of Juul, 12day midwinter festival where fires were lit to represent the life-giving properties of the returning sun and to provide literal and symbolic protection from the dark n cold.
It is actually connected to the Rigvedic narrative of Maarthanda, the son god who was resurrected from his death inside the egg.
This is celebrated as Yule among the Germanic people. It starts from the Winter Solstice Day and continue for 12 days.
The Bharatiya traditions will be aligned with the world-wide polytheist festivities that celebrate the Winter Solstice and Uttarayana during the 12-day Aditya Festival.
To challenge the Abrahamic domination, forming a Sanatana Dharma alliance with pre-existing and re-emerging polytheist traditions around the world will be beneficial.
The initial story of a divinity who died and was later resurrected concerned the Rigvedic god Aditya Maarthanda. This was later applied to the Zoroastrian Mithra, who was revered even in Rome.
The original polytheist cross, which was adopted into Christianity as the Christian cross, was made by uniting the four corners of the sky' (WS, VE, SS, AE) on the Kalacakra.
We should effectively return to Marthanda, the Winter Solstice, and Uttarayana from where it all originated, taking it back from Abrahamism, which appropriated this festival and converted it into Christmas and New Year, by re-energizing the 12-day Aditya Festival.
Why should the Dharmic Bharatiyas celebrate this festival season as Christmas and New Year? They should instead celebrate it as the polytheist festival of the 12 Adityas, starting from 21st December and ending at 1st January, running through the Christmas Day on 25th December.
Try to sound the Christmas names Krishna to Christna-Christ & KrishnaMaas .. It is also very close to our MargaShirsha advisory of Vedic rituals to remember tree lighting n the whole night affair of Christmas Eve.
Sants to Saints, Krishna to Christna....
Christian's adopted around 2000 years back removing the un-inhibited sex, but few truly understand the true nature of this celebration (Holy Day or Holiday) and the evolutionary victory or Divine Birth it portends.

Every morning, Bismilla Khan's uncle Ali Baksh would visit the adjacent Jadau Sri Balaji (Maha-Vishnu) temple. He earned Rs.4 a month by playing the shehnai for the entire day. Bismillah would sometimes follow him in the morning, listen to his music, n get captivated n perplexed.
Uncle n nephew walked to the Balaji temple after the morning sessions at the Jadau temple. Ali Baksh had a room designated for him. He practised for around five hours a day there. When Ali Baksh finished practising, he discovered Bismillah seated next to him, listening n hungry.
These five are the great celestial forces that are worshipped as Pancha Devata Puja by every householder. According to the family's tradition, one of these deities is placed in the middle, with the other four placed surrounding it, and adoration is offered to all of them.
